I agree that three of the big bars looks excessive, but three mini bars looks really smart imo.

I'll stick to two though.

I also like the fact that each one is a link, but that each hyphen isn't a link and therefore underlined and looking ugly, but then i am a bit of a sad perfectionist :P

its not that im deadset against userbars but ive seen forums in which a few users had some 20 bars stacked up in their signatures telling you everything about them from how much blood they have in their feces (always good to know if the person youre dealing with has hemroids) to which type of blood it is
id prefer it if we could stop this sort of userbar flooding before it really starts to develop into a problem
