Well if you test drove the person's car from the opposite seating position, then that wouldn't be a test drive would it? Because... the seating position does affect the cars performance, so it could make a difference in laptimes (some say).

Oh and driving on either sides of the car is easy to get used to, just try it more and more and it won't bug you. I drive from left or right all the time, it's not that hard .
