I do know that the lot of you have a profound dislike and disrespect for ovals and oval racers. However, bear with me and please dont flame. This is a serious question.

I was in the FM server and I was talking about LFSCAR with a few guys. For some reason we came to the subject of the CTRA system. A few people wondered if it's possible for another server to open with ovals.

I was wondering the same thing.

I dont think people dislike Oval Junkies, it is only extremly boring doing 300 laps on a 40 seconds track.
With no change of getting away of your opponent. Once your in first position i rearly didnt see that guy loose a race.

you could do what LFSCAR does. Have the same Kyoto ovals but put in customizations on it to make it different (ex. the chicane oval)

You can also put in a short oval in autocross.

You can also put in 1 or 2 road courses in too to make it a little more interesting

Believe it or not but we have discussed oval racing internally. There are a number of key things that I would need to see before introducing a licence tier for oval racers.

Firstly the physics need sorting, drafting is currently incorrectly modelled and the effect of aerodynamics when driving near a wall isn't modelled.

Second we need a few more ovals, Kyoto Oval has a place in an oval calendar, but it is in no way representative of oval racing. We need 1 or 2 more oval circuits.

Lastly, we need stewards. Not all of our current stewards are interested in oval racing, and the nature of oval racing means we would likely see a steep increase in reports, particularly as we wouldn't have an established oval racers ban file. Our stewards are highly trained and professional in their approach and they dedicate a lot of time for absolutely [swear filter] all reward, finding people who 100% fit our requirements is difficult.

When, not if, these three things are satisfied then CTRA will run oval racing.

I agree, Kyoto is the strangest oval I've ever seen.

Seriously there are a couple of ovals on autocross layouts in the Bump and Jump server.

They are to oval racing what a BriSCA circuit is to Indycar
