Hello again. I'm looking for a notebook that can handle photo editing and maybe (but not extremely wanted) video editing well. I've looked at dell, and apple, (not interested in $alienware$) and it looks like apple is good, but expensive, and dell is cheap but lacking. I've used dell (XP) for my whole life but it doesnt seems like they make XP on any of them anymore (except vostro >.<), so I was looking in dell the most, but If I had to, I might switch to Apple (Virus free ). So... and advice on what to choose?

The Apple package isn't going to get you the same amount of computer for your money, although it's not actually as bad as a lot of people think. If you've got no interest in using Os X then it probably isn't worth bothering with but seeing as your wanting photo and video editing you may like having Os X.

I'm not sure how good Dells current screens are but I know the screen on my brothers laptop (some cheap Dell) is absolutely horrendously horrible to look at and I also know people who've got the silver widescreen one (no idea what sort) which has an overly shiny sun blocking thing and really horrible colours that would be no good for photo editing. The Mac displays are the best bit about them IMO and one of the deciding features when i got my iBook and went for a Mac over a PC was the fact it was the only laptop with a screen I liked that I could afford, I also didn't want anything bigger than 14".

Whatever you do if you have an interest in photo editing and so on try and find somewhere to see the display in action before you buy (even if you ultimately buy online).

just buy a sony vaio or some lump of junk like it.. i got a 1.8 ghz with 512 mb of ram... runs movies lfs.. everything you need and more



700 euro stock ( id say about 400 $ now or about 150 if it fell of the back of truck.... not promoting theift but its not your fault if the drive dont put a lock on the back door )
