Driving Force Pro - FFB motor swap?
At the moment I think about getting a DFP, I expect my trusty ol' Sidewinder to break every minute. But I heard that the FFB motor in the DFP is very slow, and I heard that one can change it. I've some experience with soldering and stuff, so does somebody know more details?

PS: No, I don't consider buying a G25, for I more think about building a H-shifter/Clutch myself and because the G25s pedals are too small and have to few space between them for my (really) big feet.
nobody?
Well, it's slow. But I it's probably on par or faster than any other wheels motors, except G25 of course.

Yeah, it's about the same as my three Thrustmaster FFB wheels i had before the DFP. But the DFP has a subtlety about it that the others dont have which means you can turn it right down and still know exactly what the cars doing and is about to do (at least it does in LFS) I very rarely run with more than 20% in game and 70% in the Wingman settings, so it can be quite quick, (same can't be said for my reactions though !)

OP, i've never heard of anyone changing the motor in the DFP, but i don't see why it cant be done. You got a link ?
I don't have a link, I just remenber reading about it on some sites. But I thought that the DFP was way slower, if its not, good. Because of my current wheel having no FFB, it is a big step forward anyway.
Oh, if your coming from a non-FFB you'll definitely notice a difference. You may not like it at first and you may even be slower, but if you stick with it it'll add so much more to your driving, esp with LFS.

After a short while you'll wonder why you didn't get an FFB wheel years ago, and you'll be lost without it.

Go, get a DFP unless you can afford a G25, and have fun, you'll love it.
I already got a FFB wheel, the one in my VW Golf 1.4....
Got my licence for almost two years now, so I kinda know which input one gets from the wheel
No, no, it's very very different from real life.

In car the gf/wife is only brave enough to say....."Do you have to drive that fast" and give you the evil eye.

On the PC it's much more dangerous, she'll quite happily give you a clip round the back of the head, growl "You're not still playing that bloody game are you" and lean over and switch the screen off (thinking she's turned off the computer)....(side note, my ex-wife was actually scared of the FFB, so she never got into driving sims....shame :mischievo
i think its better if u manage to double up the motor in the dfp then changing the motor
