why not save up your money and just drive that saab " into the ground " then buy a better one and/or a differant car


also do's that car need to pass any tests ( i.e in ireland cars have to do the NCT - national car test ) ??

The only possible thing that would compell me to do anything of the sort would be the autotragic in there. I don't understand your thinking...

It just needs to pass state inspection. It'll pass perfectly once I fix the corner light.

its a saab 9000 , an ok... porne to many problems ( mainly rust ) why not just buy a mustang or something half decent like that for under 9k ??

Because I don't have anywhere near nine grand. It's a $500 car, it ain't perfect. Plus, let's see you drive a Mustang in winter here. Insurance is going to rape me enough with a base model sedan, just what I need is a sports car. I can't afford to feed a Mustang, or buy parts for one. $90 will make this car roadworthy, and this is (almost) exactly the car I want.

I think he got confused between 9k as in $9,000 and Saab 9000

I think this is something like how I'm after a 1988 Holden Camira wagon. Largely a bad car, my old one never didn't have problems but it was my first car and I still miss it. It had oddly soft suspension, amazingly soft and boucy seats, was really underpowered and the electrics were a constant problem and the automatic gearbox got stuck in third (it's highest gear) sometimes but no other car I've driven has felt so honest and real. I would love to own another one in future and get it running reliably.

Also found out the other day that the parents are gonna drive it in the winter, but I'm getting more and more sure it'll be mine when I get my license.

sorry for the gaint bump but just thought id ask if you knew any decent 9k forums since i was given a cs model for free , non turbo


rusty as hell and took hours of work just to turn over , almost everything had to be oiled.... or replaced. :S
