SLI'ing a 6600GT isn't a good idea - they end up being slower than a 7600GT while costing more.

TBH theres little i can say about them - they work, and they are cheap.
Quote :would like to know what they are like

They are generally pleasant, of a moderate temper and quite obedient. They play well with children, which makes them suitable for a family and they can be quite protective at times. When raised with siblings they provide many hours of entertainment and there is usually no rivalry between them.

Edit, James, if you get them from where i think you are, remember you will need a cooler, as from the sounds of things they come with the water block of a Reserator, which is useless without the rest of the kit (ie Pump, reservoir and tubing / radiator)
The 6600 GT is a great budget card.Thats about all there is to it. They have performance, but considering how old the card is it just won't keep up with next gen or some of this gen's games.

yes i know i have got that covered, and i may sell the other one to may dad, wink, wink, lol, i think it will b better than my x1550
Good budget card, though I think today it already belongs to the low end spectrum. Can run new-ish games reasonably well, but not on highest detail of course. From my experience at least the MSI variants have/had notoriously undersized coolers, so be sure to provide adequate cooling.

Otherwise a fine card, though its Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering can cause quite heavy shimmering which can be quite tricky to get rid of. Don't make the error of thinking "it's cheap, and if I need more I can go SLI". Well, while technically you can, it's just not worth the money with this card.
im buying one second hand as a step from my radeon x1550 to an 8600gt
You guys are so mean to my 6600GT.. you guys broke his heart.. I think that he is going to suicide

Anyway. It's a great card.
I run LFS max at 130 fps in single race (so no other cars).

It can run FEAR at everything highest AA 2x softshadow off, sometimes framedrop.

Anyway. I think that it has his time (gonna sell it)

And up to the next gen! (XFX 8600GTS XXX/720 editon)
k pioint taken

gotta spend alot now, gulp, lol
Hey Takumi, is that an AGP card or PCI-E? I've been meaning to pick up an AGP 6600GT but anywhere they want wayy too much for it...

SLI'ing 6600GT's are about the same as a 6800GT with a bit more throughput.

The cards themselves are nothing hot, cheap now =) Did buy them at $160 each a few years ago.
