Drifting the FZ5?
I've seen it done. Any particular tricks? I find it to be a VERY over-powered, under-steery car. Is it just because I use keyboard, or the fact I can't drive it to save my life? Anytime I get a few good drifts going the tires either roast quick, or it will lose itself and spin out. Anybody care to post a replay I can take a look at and learn from?

FZ5 is one of the best drifting cars in the game. You can get some serious angle out of that thing. Just practice, practice, practice. W...Wait, where are the flaming bananas?

No flaming bananas because he's got S2...?

IMO the best drifting car is either the LX6 or the XRT - the LX6 just does it naturally.

Of course good luck controlling it with a keyboard...
Thanks so much Niko. Straight away I realized my main problem, TOO MUCH THROTLE. Could you perhaps post the setup you were using? After test driving your replay I've become quite fond of it.

And yes, I have a license, but prefer to post with my demo account.

@ Jakg, I can never wrap my head around the LX6, it's high on the bong water or something, it just cant corner without it wanting to slide. Tis fun, but pain the in the ass when wanting to lay down fast lap times.

The FZ5 is actually a very fun car to drift and drive, the RAC is a stupid twat to drive and drift, and the LX6 is fun in general, always having to be on edge.

yes rac is a twat but kb drifting takes time im used to it but just dont use to much throttle and dont get to angled i use one of kamkors set from the setup field
IMO XRT is the best car to handle while drift, with FZ5 it's bit harder, but if you get used to the power of fz then it's quite better and you can afford to link longer drifts than with XRT

Okay, sorry for being a bit....Can't think of a word. Crap?

I'll keep it in mind that you've got an S2, next time I try to flame someone i've never seen.
You've never seen him after 500 posts?

Naww your nice What's your favourite combo? Someday when I'm used to the S2 content we should have a nice race, in the spirit of fun

WTF is the point in a "private set"?
Well maybe he took forever to set it up perfectly for him, and wishes to keep it private, because it took him so long, or something along those lines. I nipped over to the Team Inferno site and grabbed a couple drift sets, so I'm set

You mentioned roasting tires so here's a quickie with 900 deg g25.

Private sets are ridiculous, I've spent plenty of time setting this up and testing it. Maybe it's some JDM EGO thing about private drift setups, go figure.

Brakes on the setup have been set high because there's no way to adjust handbrake on it's own, high brake force makes the handbrake more effective, especially noticeable in FZ5.

Thanks for the set and replay. I'll take a look at them tomorrow (little busy recording guitar stuff ATM) Wasn't there an option back in the day to adjust handbrake power on its own? Maybe back in S1 days or something, or I could just be a stupid stoner that can't remember anything. What would JDM have anything to do with private setups?

Quote from Moonclaw :Private sets are ridiculous...

Yes, private drift sets does seem to be a bit ridiculous. But private race sets are not. They could be for an upcoming league race, or for the CTRA system, etc. Generally, private sets are not ridiculous because there are plenty of times where you may not want others to have your set....
