R4R driver Storm(s) to victory in final OWRL F1 round, GFC wins team championship

It's the final round of the season, you're 8 points behind 2nd place in the championship with the championship leader (nBio) already been crowned champion and you haven't won a race in this season yet. What do you do? Go all out for the win. This is exactly what R4R Storm did at the final OWRL F1 round at Kyoto GP Long.

Storms' quest for winning at least one race of the first OWRL F1 season started in qualifying. 0,10 seconds ahead of GFC nBio and 0,15 ahead of 58sTyLe, Storm took pole position. This was followed by a good start of the race and so far everything looked nice and steady.

But the two GFC drivers had their mind set on something else: the team championship. Both drivers were not planning on settling behind Storm. 58sTyle passed Storm for the lead on lap 6 and nBio followed on lap 9. But it was not that Storm didn't had the speed. More fuel meant he couldn't keep them behind, but two fast laps after 58sTyle's stop made him regain the lead just ahead of his rival.

As Storm and 58sTyle fought for the lead, nBio had to make a extra stop to repair mechanical damage and put himself out of contention for the race win. As the race progressed at the front Storm lost but then regained the lead and took advantage of his pit stop strategy to put some distance between him and 58sTyLe. No one was going to stop Storm from winning and getting up to second in the championship. Well done!

nBio lost a few positions due to his extra stop, but could still help his team to steal the team championship from SK Racing by finishing 3rd. He knew what to do and drove himself back to third place, setting the fastest lap in the progress. With that he kept Andy(GER), who was guest driving for 1stBFA, from the podium. Still a 4th place in his OWRL F1 debut is a good performance.

So now all races are over, all what's left is to congratulate GFC nBio on winning the championship and GFC on winning the drivers championship. Thanks to all drivers who took part in this season. We enjoyed doing it and we hope to see all of you next year!
