what more can i say ?
Well i was gunning for Croatia. Wooohooo

*runs*
What a clown. Him and the head of FA are going. I cant believe it am still gobsmaked
hes guna walk in to the FA and go whats next and there gunna go ( heres your stuff , theres the exit ; get a taxi to gatwick airport , weeve booked your flight to mexico and were still come and hunt you down and kill you .)
What a disgrace. What I don't get is why the 9 clowns on the pitch (excluding Crouch and Beckham) didn't pass to beckham?! They passed to him once, and he setup a bleeding goal! What else do they need to do?

England are crap.
Dare I say it?

Bring back the '66 squad

I only saw the first 15 mins then came on here to spam...er...I mean post useful posts in threads.

Where can I join the association?

IMO, I think that Steve McLaren was pushed into the job, it was either him or the Brazilian (I forgot his name), and the FA wanted somebody English for patriotic reasons. That's the way I see it anyway.

He certainly wasn't pushed into the job, and he certainly wasn't the only option for the FA who interviewed a number of other English managers. What probably got him the position was that he had been assistant to Sven, but that's all by the by anyway.

The fact is, that somehow he consistently managed to take a group of players that regularly perform well for some of the best club teams in the world at the highest level (no exaggeration) and make them look like a bunch of disorganised, lazy, negative, unambitious, average journeymen.

I'm not saying the England players are the best in the world, far from it, but they are competent, and under McClaren they regularly look decidedly incompetent.

The worst thing is he'll probably head back to Middlesbrough. Please noooooo, we just got rid of him!
He has had a lot of injuries* to deal with, but putting Carson in goal with a weakened back four infront of him was very, very silly. Nearly as silly as starting Crouch on his own up front with nobody on the pitch who could put a decent ball into the box.

* Can we call Owen "injured" or is he to be considered "disabled" given that he only manages a couple of games a year?
Absolutely shocking display. Why does McLaren insist on making us play a system at odds with the domestic game? Also, the lack of heart and fight on display from the players was extremly disappointing.

IMO until we can grasp the fact that we just ain't that good we will go nowhere fast.

no he will now become manager of toad fc who play in the toad and frogs FA and there in the conference
It's a shame for Mclaren, i quite like him.
I can't help thinking though that this perhaps is what England needed, changes need to be made in how the international squad is handled. Also the players need to forget their domestic team loyalties and start playing as a team for a change, i'm sick of the 'one man shows' that the team has turned into of late.
Quote from wikipedia :
As a player, McClaren was a midfielder who spent most of his career in the lower leagues of English football. After leaving Hull City, he played for Derby County, Lincoln City (on loan), Bristol City and Oxford United before an injury forced him to retire in 1992.[3]

He enjoyed life so much at that level, that since he started his managerial career he has done his best to drag every team he manages BACK to that level...

Having said that, even bloody Oxford Utd could have put up a better show tonight!

Trouble is , it is the whole system that is letting us down. I feel that these football academies that grab the kids with talent at about 8 years old, then brainwash them into becoming mindless robots are killing the game. What happened to kids learning how to ENJOY football..letting REAL talent loose, even if the player involved may like the odd 'bevvy' between matches (a la Gazza!)

And now the glorious Labour government is happily ripping up one of the best breeding grounds of real footballers to build a f**king CAR PARK for the Olympic stadium!
At least when Eriksson was manager we actually QUALIFIED!!! All I can say is I'm glad france are still in... Let's see if the country I was born in can do better than England did in 2004 and in these qualifiers...

:tombstone McClaren... Start clearing your desk ready for Jose Mourinho
Well you can't blame it all on the manager, today was never going to be one of our strongest games i mean no rooney, terry, ferdinand

he didnt put hargreaves on for god knows why and we had carson in goal even though he did a cracking save.

My view is that it is england as a team that are making us loose as sven has shown what he is all about at city this season i just hope they get a manager with common sense as he's definately going out the door.

What's the difference between the England football team and Lewis Hamilton?

Hamilton will still have a McLaren in the morning.
Bunch of passionless overpaid wimps. What happens when David Beckham retires? He seems to be the only consistent player now. At least my hopes were not high this time, say what you like about Sven, but he got England qualified everytime without fail.
McClaren is a very successful man when you measure his wage against his talent! lololol think about it! lol

Can't blame McClaren. It's like blaming a driver for being slow when he's in a really bad car.

You have to look higher up at the employers. If they can't manage to attract a world class manager for England, then they have a serious issues.

McClaren was never good enough... no one disputes that... but laying the blame on HIM for Englands problems is wrong in my opinion.

McClaren was never the right man, but don't blame him for being rubbish... blame the people who put him there

England fear losing to much.. it's like when you race.. if you are thinking about the guy behind and not focussed on the matter in hand you will always come into problems. This idea that England players don't show enough passion is a meaningless terns. imagine Schumi or KIMI coming into the pits and goes to his mechanic... 'why am i losing time?', and the mech goes 'your not driving with enough passion'... he would laugh at him!!!

The England players want to win far too much... they always play with so much fear... passion doesn't score goals... good football does... let's get some things right here.. either be specific or don't say anything at all.

Let's forget this cliched bull like not playing with enough heart or passion, and get someone in there wh ocan actually get the players playing at a high standard without the fear of failure clouding their judgement.
England is the most unco-ordinated football nation when it comes to national sides. They just put all these players on the field put a random coach(good or not) and expect to win, they haven't got a clue what there doing. The Russian coach who said England don't deserve to get in the euro 2008 is right, they don't.
Just how blinkered are people?, it's not the freakin manager, it's the bloody useless, overpaid idiotic players who can't be arsed to play for their country.

No matter who is in charge, if he has to work with the shower o'shite England team we have, he is screwed.
Football (soccer) is a team sport. No matter how good the individuals are, if thay can't work as a team they are not going to win.
Aren't these 'world class' players? Surely they can work as a team, because they are supposed to be the best England has to offer. The manager should only be icing on the cake, rather than the be all and end all. Good job I don't like football really.
