new power supply
ok, since i got my new hardware, it needs alot of power, with the other vid card(that i could use till mine arrived) wasnt that strong so dindnt need much power,
with my new vid card it does, alot!
i got my
gigabyte p35 ds3p
gigabyte 2900xt
my dvd rom thingy(dunno standard, sata)
my hdd (dunno standard,sata)
3 fans bout 36v?
my front bezel neon
my front display neon

all together its about i dunno acctually
my current psu has 500W
so, yesterday i played call of duty, all fine till i smell something burned. the pc shuts off, i smell, didnt find what burned, restarted, just 15min ago i wanted to play a other game, same smell, pc down, no more boot, smelled every hardware and found out it was my psu, its cooked
so i want a new 1 with alot of powa
and that u can connect the cables on the psu sepperatly
price, as cheap as possible, it needs to be silent, but very good and durable.
i was thinking about 800W-1000W?

800w is overkill, just get a DECENT 600w PSU and you will be fine.

This is where buying unbranded PSU's kills.
hmm,
will it be enough?
ill go to the shop tomorrow and see what they have, all those costs
and christmas coming

I'm willing to bet your last PSU was a generic one?
powerx was the brand :s
seemed nice
my dad bought me the wrong 1, now i allways buy my parts myself
How much are you willing to spend? There is a power supply for every budget.
Wait, what does he have that merits a 600W PSU? I'm sure I'm missing something, but I don't see anything that really sucks a lot of power, other than the graphics card... shouldn't 4 or 500W be enough? I mean, look at my setup - and I'm only running 520 watts...

2900XT sucks in way more power than a GTX.

He didn't list his CPU, either.
its a E6800
my budget is around 100€
Can you get a Seasonic S12 psu for that? 430W would be enough, but they probably have a 500W ish version as well.. A quality 500W model will deliver much more power than a cheap 700W model. Don't go just on the numbers.
all they had was a rocketeer 600w 1

Buying another generic PSU won't help.
