Restrictions for XFR-like performance on a RWD GTR
As per the topic - what sort of restriction settings would be optimal for creating a class using a GTR and the XFR? Reason I'm asking is that I like driving RWD cars and a pal has recently gotten fixated with the XFR so I'm trying to find a solution that allows us to play as we like but in a sort of even field.
Tbh, I don't think it's easily possible to do so. I mean yes, you can create GTR cars that have about the same bhp/ton value, but accounting for:
  1. Massively oversized tyres (allows a much softer compound to be used on the downsized big GTR cars)
  2. Downforce
is sheer impossible as balancing these would depend completely on the track that is used. The only thing you can do is take a certain track configuration and tweak the car until you get roughly the same laptimes. One car will still be much faster on the straights while the other will dominate the corners, but at least theoretically they'd be balanced that way.
Oh yeah - you're right - I forgot that damned XFR doesn't have any downforce adjustments. So that would pretty much exclude any config with high speed corners. Hrm... well, I could try to see if there's any hint of love between me and the XFR.

The CTRA GT2 system is pretty balanced with theGT2 GTR's against the XFR and the UFR - i'd use those setting for a great base point and tweek it for which ever circuit you are driving.
How about using the minimum downforce setting?

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing together with some rather steep intake restrictions and a keg of beer as ballast.

I'll take a look at the CTRA server settings, thanks.
You really have to cripple the GTRs to get them anywhere near the XFR/UFR. Because the GTRs have so much more grip in the corners you have to take away so much power they turn into total sissymobiles. The XFR ends up being more fun because at least there's the possibility of having to brake from time to time.

Actually with R4s and zero wing angle on the XRR it can be interesting on small twisty tracks as it still entertains quite a bit of torque. I wish there was something like the XRT with slicks - or just the XRT with slicks.

OR - my pal stopped with his crazy fixation with FWDs and bought into my fixation with RWDs, the world would be so much better...
