Removing driver when driving in chase veiw
Sorry if this have been asked before, but -
I recently have getting low FPS, and I have tried different stuff, lowering graphics etc. When using custom cams I get like 30 FPS more than when I`m using chase veiw.

ANYWAY, my question is - why not have an option to disable drivers in chase veiw? This means that people that are using chase veiw can chose if they want to see the driver in the car or not. Of course this is unrealistic and all that, but I think it`s would affect the FPS a lot for the ones that uses chase veiw.

And please, Tristan, if your going to start discussion chase veiw again, leave it, k? <3

It`s not a big thing to do, but I belive it could mean a lot for the ones that are looking for those extra FPS`s.
You shoul...

Okay, just for you. But don't come a-running when chase view is removed altogether
Just hit F. I mean, it quite literally does the opposite of what you want, but the FPS should improve quite considerably. It's not like there's any suspension of disbelief you'd have to keep up from that perspective

Problem is that I then completely disable the HUD; and thats not good eighter When using custom veiw, I can chose to disable driver. It seems to affect the FPS a lot
The HUD is on when you press F. Shift-F turns that off.
Lol, but when I press F I only see forces, where it`s hard forces and where the weight is etc. Usefull, but not what I`m looking for.
But it does remove the models (incl. the driver) from the screen, and so will increase FPS.

Hehe, you got a point there
But what`s I`m asking for is a way to disable only the driver when using chase veiw.

And btw, I had a Dejavu now, I feel that I have written this post before, and it`s looking exactly the same, just can`t remember when and where...hmmm..

Everyone, MOVE. He's onto us!
Of course the correct driver model placement for chase view is behind the car floating in the air.
I think we should also remove the cars and track from chase view
Slightly offtopic but the reason i currently use chaseview is becuase watching the wheel having a spazz fit when i have my KB control rate full is unbearable :| but meh sorry for the offtopic

Then turn off the wheel?

Thank you, your intelligent answer contributed a lot to this topic.

Same as above.

I know that there allways will be people that disagree when people are coming with an suggestion. But I would hope it was something revelant to the topic, instead of starting this chase veiw discussion all over again. Grow up and start acting a little more mature, instead of trying to prove to others that your veiw of driving is better than other veiw of driving.
sure you can drive with chase view until it is removed from the game..
but i don't really think Scawen would spend any time coding this option you described. perhaps it is time for a new computer?

Elaborating on what Deggis said I'm not opposed to chase view in anyway so long as the weight distribution and aerodynamic effects of the driver sitting on the rear wing are simulated. I'd also like to suggest some rag doll physics to stop arcade drivers crashing too much.
I don`t mean to like wtf removing the driver itself.
I meaning just remove it from the sight. The weight and such will still be there, but it`s not vissible on the screen, simple as that. it`s allready possible in custom veiw, why not in chase veiw?
Quote from The Very End :it`s allready possible in custom veiw, why not in chase veiw?

No, it's not. As soon as you move the camera outside of the car, the driver is drawn again
Is it? If I use custom veiw and hell-of-a-lot FOV, it seems that the driver ain`t there. I might be wrong tho
FOV? What does the FOV have to do with this?

Again, marked for emphasis:
"As soon as you move the camera outside of the car [...]"
Because with right FOV you can almost have a chase veiw with custom veiw, and you can chose to veiw drivers or not.
