The online racing simulator

Quote from waveform :Firstly, I have to say, the mechanics of this game (the ability of parts to break like in the real world, and be customized) is absolutely amassing. This is by far about the best sim I’ve seen.
If I my just make 4 small suggestions: maybe something to consider down the road.
  • Firstly: I would love to see some games with police chases, like a hot pursuit kind of game mode. It would be a fun thing to add to something already great. (But don't change what is already).
  • Secondly: I would love to see a few new large outdoor tracks with more open areas to drive. So if someone wanted to cut through a small set of woods during a police chase, or even while racing, it would add a new dimension. I’m not asking to change the current tracks, just something to think about for new upcoming tracks.
  • Third: Large industrial cities with lots of roads and subway tunnels would be a blast. And to add to this, the driver would have the abbility to drive down side roads even if it means going off the path. This ability to go off course would not happen during a race obviously, but knowing you could if you wanted to can add a ton of fun psychologically. And even more fun during a police chase .
  • And last: The graphics look great, please don’t ever cut corners on the textures being used. Keep the graphic’s quality where it is, no less. They look great!
I know that this is a racing game, and a great one! But being chased by the police is also very real kind of feeling when your in a fast car? This would be sooooo much fun.
Again, I’m not implying to change anything in anyway. I’m only asking for the possibility of adding some new game styles down the road so if the player gets tired of racing on tight tracks, he/she can take them cars out for a hell ride without guard rails.

In any case, this game is a about the best I’ve seen as far as simulating how things really happen. Thanks for reading

I appreciate why people want all of this stuff, but it's really not practical. I loved Motor City Online because it was about shortcuts and stuff, and sometimes I wish LFS had some of those features, but most of the time I understand why it doesn't.

Now here's a thought, relating to a lot of these suggestions. The Elimination mode that was suggested the other day. That works both as a valid special racing event and as a kind of Hot Pursuit mode. All it'd take is skins to sort out one team from the other.

It would also work as a sort of light-hearted mid-season event between races for the big leagues as well. If rally can have Super Specials, surely LFS can have Elimination?

Wouldn't it be possible to make an insim app that would kick the last racer every lap to spectate?
It would make mid-race joining impossible, but that's not the point here. Or it would only work with the cars that started the race?
I'm sure in the other thread about this people talked an InSim app to do it, and yes it should be possible. But immediately kicking someone to spectate does detract a bit from immersion. Maybe automatically cutting off the engine would be a better way to aim (possible or not I've no idea).

But without full in-game support, all but the winner would get DNFs. It'd need to have a way of awarding people on a per-lap basis, so while InSim could probably do it, an actual mode would be smoother.
Underground 1 and 2, and ProStreet don't have any pursuit modes.

NFS4 - High Stakes - player can be evader or cop. Physics are bizarre, but pace is fast.

NFS6 - Hot Pursuit 2 - Player can be evader or cop, 1/2 of the career mode is pursuits. Physics are annoying.

NFS9 - Most wanted - Player can be evader only. Physics are better than NFS4 or NFS6. Open areas for pursuits.

NFS10 - Carbon - Player can be evader only (except online). Physics similar to NFS9, except muscle cars have a lot of oversteer. Open areas for pursuits.

If you like pursuits, there are 4 NFS games that have it. From my experience, the physics doesn't need to be realistic for pursuit modes, and collisions pretty much need to be damage off before pursuits are "fun". I doubt LFS will ever have pursuit modes.
Thers is at least 4 LFS S2 servers running InSim mods that allow for police chases. Ours in particular runs a chase condition level system -(Wanted Level) There's a police siren to download to replace horn 5 and you're set to go.

NO,.. they aren't race servers , but are sufficient enough to satisfy most players urges to have a bash at LFS utilising its great physics to have a bit of a fun time other than just hard core racing.

Enable your cruise filter waveform, check the master server list and never have to suffer poor physics on NFS ever again.

That's pretty cool.
Anyone know how to send a message to just one player similar to a insim command ,,

If a player asks for pricelist
IE:- "so the car price list only shows to the person who asked for it"

Thanks
