The online racing simulator
for all the circuit guys out there: Prairie Hills
http://www.prairiehillsmc.com/facility_track_map.htm

THIS is how a location for GP racing should be organized/look like. btw its the longest GP style track-facility in the western hemisphere

btw, they have a partnership with iDT (probably for designing a track for rFactor) i do not think they charge anything for that...

so its just to let you know: there are good tracks without licensing costs

just some figures:Track Specifications

* 3,600 track configurations
* Four tracks configured to run in either direction; independent, or in combination with each other
* North track: 3.2 miles long, 19 double-apex, off camber, hairpin, blind and carousel turns
* South track: 45' elevation change, two tracks of 2.2 miles and 1.4 miles, 23 G-force

oh i forgot about the improvement suggestion:
Westhill International needs some more track combinations imo (maybe a short track oval as well *g*)

LOL... Looks like someone was let loose with an etch-a-sketch! There was something really bland and generic about the website and then I realised... This doesn't exist.

First off, I thought it was a cheeky and creative launch for a fictional sim track, but a quick look around reveals its a development proposal with a projected launch date of 2009. Good luck to them, but I bet it becomes a housing estate or industrial park before planning approval is finalised.
yea but, if they are going to build this until end of 2009, we could have this in a game until like early 2009
But I'd rather take 5 Eric's own venues than that. Both take about 2,5 years to model
To be honest, I hate these kinds of tracks. A bunch of roads randomly slapped down and then they pick a route through the maze. That is not the way to design a race track.

I'd rather have some of Eric's own tracks, too.
Looks like one of Hanksters creations, only, without the Giant Man Eating Squid Monster and the Piranha Infested Lake of Death. *sigh* these modern day track designers have no imagination.

Maybe they'll have to fit satellite navigation in the race cars so the drivers can find their way around it, don't think yer tiny little F1 cockpit map's gonna be much use on that thing

It looks like a typical coporate/track day type track, lots of low speed corners with run off, fine but I'd choose a real track with some ballsy high speed stuff any day
It looks more like a plan for a residential development.
looks like fun to me!
Looks much more interesting than Westhill, Aston, Fern bay combined. Unless it is totally flat, but still.
I don't know why they don't make tracks that fit into the natural contours and gradient of the environment they're in.

I mush prefer the natural sweep of Spa and the Nurburgring to Istanbul's artificial hills or the sheer blandness that is Bahrain.

This one looks truly dreadul - sorry.

What do you guys think?
its not flat, it has a lot of elevation changes as written in the "figures" in post 1

i am not a circuit racer anyways
It look too mickey-mousey.

I'd much prefer something based on a historic real-life track. ISI manages to incorporate real-life tracks but with fictional names to get around licensing violations, so something similar could be done for LFS too I guess.

Zandvoort, Suzuka, and Silverstone, are circuits that suit a wide variety of racing cars, provides plentiful overtaking opportunities, and have challenging sections to test the skill of drivers. They look good too.
