No offense to anyone but Democrats are going to win. Why? Because McCain is leading for the Republican. McCain is a Republican candidate however he's a left wing. He supported the immigration bill, which is completely out of the republican realm and IF McCain DO win the nomination, a lot of conservatives will not vote due to an "ideals" devotion. What made it worse is that McCain made a deal with Kennedy who is an EXTREME left. Conservatives are never going to forgive him for that. This is why I'd rather have Huckabee or Romney. But Romney is a Mormon and a good portion of the conservatives are Catholics, and Huckabee is a colorless character.

This means that Democrats will have an upper hand if McCain wins the Republican candidate.

Now about Obama and Clinton. Younger people vote Obama because they think his "extreme left" attitude is "cool" even though he does not really stand behind strong beliefs. Obama just tries to please EVERYONE even IF it's counterproductive to do so. He strangely vowed to signed the Akaka Bill, which tells a lot about "what he stands for" (and incredibly retarded imo even if I'm from Hawaii). Despite Obama's momentum, younger people have been notorious for being absent from politics so this might not play into Obama's hands. In fact a good majority of the voters in America are older well educated people.

Older people vote for Clinton but she is incredibly polarized. You either love her or you hate her and that'll cause a lot of problems. But she at least show some reason and restraint when it comes to handling political situations and not bent on "giving everyone candy". I dislike her, and it pains me to say she's more competent to be president than Obama.

As for the others, the left's Edwards would have made a better candidate than both, but he lacks color and people forget him easily. Richardson, the fourth candidate, dropped out early due to getting only 2% of the votes. On the right wing side, Paul's not much of a politician. He's fallen far behind McCain, Romney, and Huckabee and it's highly likely this is the last we'll see of him.

I personally dislike both because they are both hardcore left wings. I'm moderate slightly leaning towards conservative.

As for the third parties? I'm not sure who will run this year. Green Party? Reformist? Socialist Party? Independent from all parties? IDK. These usually dont show up until election day and all they ever really do is screw things up. (Remember Nader?)

Obviously this is not a prophesy, but my personal opinion. I may hit the mark or I may be completely off. But all this is drawn from paying careful attention to details in the race.

Personally I don`t care, and it`s really bottering me that everything on TV is about that. I don`t care what americans do, they are the ultimate care police in the world, and sooner or later they are going to get nuked to hell and back.


To be serious, why is it such a big deal? Sure, I agree when the president election comes, that I will follow it, but I have no interests in whats going on now, just sad it takes up all the quality time on the telly

Take it from someone who grew up under a female prime minister, Hillary's got that look in her eye, that "I'm a woman so I have to be extra-sinister and ruthless to prove I'm up to the job" look that Thatcher had. She scares the shit out of me.

I think we need to remember that the US scale of political placements is generally rather shifted to the conservative side.

John McCain, for example, would be considered as right wing in Europe. Mitt Romney and Mick Hickabee would not fit in to any mainstream political party in the UK (and I doubt they are racist enough to fit in to the BNP).

Obama would be centre-right in the UK and so would Hillary, but both of them considered as left wing in the US. Mike Gravel - for example - would be centre-left in the UK, but he's considered as extreme left in the US. I wonder how badly the Liberal Democrats would be chased out of town in the US ...

Obama is the least dangerous of those with a chance, I'd say.

The guy leading the Republicans reminds me too much of Bush, he looks goofy, sounds goofy and has to read his speeches from a script. I don't like Hilary since she told everyone her idea of what being president was, which is to be a manager. Obama seems to have the most passion about the job, and is intelligent enough to learn the words to his speeches. I would like to see Obama as president more than any of the others.

Duke toaster is spot on though, my views are mid-left libertarian, I would be burned alive and called a communist in some states in the US.

I think that the way some US manifestos are going, you have a good chance of winning if you have a No 1 crop, wear Doc Martins, Levi's with a 1/4 inch turn-up (cuff,for the cousins!) a Ben Sherman shirt, 1/2 inch thick braces (suspenders, for teh cousins!) and have a swastika tattooed on your forehead.

Where does the Constitution give the President the power to make war without consent? Article I clearly gives Congress alone the power to declare war. History has proven that aggressive imperialist foreign policy is a failure. America is bleeding to death because of it. Our currency is weakening, which happens to all countries when they overextend themselves and spend too much money. Money we don't have. We borrow money from China just to pay the bills every year. We print money out of thin air, which causes inflation and intensifies the vicious cycle.

The US government needs to reduce spending massively. Wasteful, frivolous, government programs should be eliminated. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan should cease immediately. All American troops abroad should be brought home.

Foreign policy should be open, humble, and honest. We should be talking with and negotiating with governments who disagree with us, not placing sanctions on them and threatening them with force. Trade, travel, and communication should be free and open. Entangling alliances should be avoided. Military force should never be used as a tool of aggression and empire.

Faith in government should be restored by removing those in office responsible for the morally reprehensible policies of this administration and this Congress, and past ones. The word 'treason' comes up frequently in discussion of these policies, and the Constitution makes clear and simple the procedure for impeachment and trial of officials accused of such crimes.

Secondly, I always have the feeling, when there are elections in the US, it's organised by the same people who do miss world:

Because we have our ass in everyone elses affairs, it's going to make a difference around the world. Hopefully we will move our ass out over other countries problems and focus on our own for once.

Hssst, world have to believe that financial world is lead by US and that is part of creating that illusion, it would be chaos if someone would find out that meaning of US to economy has decreased a lot and elections there don't affect so much anymore than they have used to affect
