Did a quick search and found nothing, so here we go...

I was watching TV earlier today, and settled on SpeedTV (Quite a good North American auto-sports channel) The show 'Setup' came on. it's not a new show by any means, but I've never really followed it. It's basically a bunch of up-and-coming racers and their teams, they get the same car (a new crappy little Pontiac, can't remember the model) and they race head to head. At the end of the season the winning driver and team gets a contract with a high-end racing team/corporation.

So anyways, I'm watching an episode, and my god, these drivers SUCK. They had a 25 lap race in a desert setting, the course was a little tight, no real elevation changes, a couple decent corners, but it wasn't an amazing track. There were people off track every other lap, loads of 'bumper breaking', cutting corners, T-boning, cutting off drivers, it was horrible.

Anybody follow the series? Or has anybody caught an episode? I'd like to hear what other people think of this show.

Nope, but I'll look out for it

Sounds like some LFSers though

ive heard about it... but what if drivers suck.. isnt fun?
That episode did suck, I watched the marathon of their first series maybe, idk but watching that marathon was nice. The drivers in this one seem far to aggressive then they did last time, although I did miss the actual race I only got to see clips of the last 15 min. I know the first time I watched through it wasn't quite like that, but you gotta remember this is tv and its probably scripted like hell to make it all dramaish and whatnot. I would hope not but far too many things are nowadays.

I used to watch it when I bothered to have cable TV; but it's far too "pop-culturized" and probably scripted. Just a bunch of hot heads and some quite poor driving usually. Still fun to watch, and fun to laugh at sometimes hearing people act like they have a clue and vehicle dynamics.

I always found Pinks more entertaining, I love that show. At least there's no pretense there! That and the fact that Nate Pritchett actually has a functional brain.
It's much better when you have a little inside info. One of the drivers on the show is a member of another forum that I post on. He's doing quite well, and even won the first oval race that they did a few weeks ago.

The Pontiac that they're using is the Solstice. It's an American version of the MX5. A little bigger, a little heavier, and a good bit more powerful. Factory turbocharger. Saturn has a sister version called the Sky.
:sleep2:Pinks or Pink is so boring for me...

Yeah I'll agree with you there, Pinks effing rules. Although it seems like Rich doesn't know dick-all about cars, but Nate's always there to stop him from looking like a twat on national TV. Did you ever catch the episode where Nate put his car on the line? I can't remember the specs, but it was a pretty bad-ass 'street' car. How about Pinks All-Out, I've found that a pretty damn good show, they cut right to the action, no BS scripts or conversations, or negotiating.

I watched that show "Setup" one time. Literally, three teams blew their shitty Ecotec engines. The GM Ecotec is a horrible engine.

LOL, yeah Nate saves the day when he jumps in with actual information. He's put his own car up a few times, one of them was a Buick Grand National I think. 3.8L V6 Turbo, those were great cars! All out is a cool version, I like it.
