This trainwreck of a thread pretty much sums up the rFactor experience: Some good moments mixed with stupid amounts of effort and trial-error to get things running.

I think it should have a "tweaking career mode" awarding points for how many times you change ffb-related settings.

Like what?

There really isn't any other racing sim that has as much to do as rFactor at the moment.
iracing is just around the corner, though. And depending on how long it really takes till release, he might just be able to save up enough money for a few months worth of "the service".

First thing to say about rF: Ignore the demo, it's only good to see if it'll play on your computer (which it should).

I don't know whether rF is right for you. It's not the same as LFS by any means when setup correctly it can be as good as LFS in the feel/perceived physics department. I wouldn't recommend rFactor for online play, most leagues tend to choose the popular mods which tend to be botched in the physics department and are much like the SimBin games to race, which I'd leave well alone.
Quote from DeadWolfBones :rFactor = blasting around offline, hotlapping and trying 50 different mods in a night, then shelving it for 4 months.

LFS = racing all the good goddamn time.

Pretty much exactly. rFactor can be fun as a GAME...
Also, the new demo (v1255) is fully unlocked for 1 hour, then you can't play at all...
its a mix. With plugins, mods, and some tweaks, it can be quite an enjoyable game. But that comes to my point, to make the GAME enjoyable, you need to install mods, plugin's etc which takes time and imo, if a GAME needs all that to be at least a small bit enjoyable, then its not worth buying. For me, if i have just spent money on a game, i want to install it, set it up and then jump in and play. Not install it, set it up, find out i need plug-ins to make it feel minor realistic, then install mods for enjoyment, and then keep it upto date every 5 minutes to stay online.

So, i put down my vote as no. If i was you, i would spend the money on another game you would like, or maybe take a girl out on a date...
