What a crackin' race

Inspired by a work colleague on Friday night (after a few shandies..) to go stick £10 on Comply or Die FTW

Collecting winnings at lunch-time.

How did everyone else do?
ehrm what?
It's a race, featuring unnaturally small men piloting giant, organic, 1 hp four-legged vehicles. By the looks of it, noone gives a toss outside of Scotland

So? How much did you win!?

I personally didn't watch it. Whipping horses doesn't float my boat.

FYI.... England is outside of Scotland, and The Grand National has the most money staked on it and the most viewers of ANY horse race in the calender...more than the Derby, more than the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and definitely a LOT more than The Schweppes Sydney Cup.
Another thing, Hunt jockeys are not always as small as flat racing jockeys, avearge weights are a lot higher..I have seen 12 stone guys racing in NH, but the most you will get in flat racing is about 9 stone.

(Also, I had a tenner on Hedgehunter, so kindly p!$$ off with your Comply or Die gloating )

I checked my atlas - you're right! Who woulda thunk it

£10 stake at 10/1 odds, £110 back

I bet on quite a few sporting events, F1, the big horse races, footy, golf etc. Makes watching it that wee bit more exciting

Made £3k profit on the football alone one year (1999). In 2006 the F1 made me over £500.

Highly selective and prudent betting is the only way I've found to make a wee profit.

I don't even like watching the nags
didn't watch (working) didn't bet (no money ) but Comply or Die has to be the best name for a horse ever.

There is absolutely nothing that can make golf remotely exciting to watch

Ok, maybe if it was played more like in Happy Gilmore. Stick some hockey aspects into it such as some proper hitting and maybe it would be slightly exciting
I too stuck a tenner on Comply or Die. But the odds were 8/1 when I done it, so I "only" got a tenner short of a tonne.

Comply or Die is actually trained about 10 minutes away from me, hence the bet. Also, the fact "Comply or Die" reminded me of "Credit or Die" from my Photoshopping days.

Aye

I'm a surveyor in the construction industry, and the tip came from our Health & Safety officer
