Jumping bars in lower left corner - music playback?
There are bars in the lower left corner of the screen that look like an audio visualization (think Winamp's dancing bars). Is this part of the music playback? If so, why would these be there and active if I have music turned off? I would rather stop the music completely, not just mute it, since it's undoubtedly using some CPU cycles.
They show the ping of each player on the server
The current 'live' ping, and the average ping from the last 10 seconds (2 bars per player). The highlighted ones are you. I think it's in the order of the connections list.
Ah, okay. That makes sense. No wonder I hadn't seen them in single player.

Thanks for straightening me out, fellas.

Can they be switched off?
I don't think they can be turned off AFAIK, plus they are very handy for when someone tells another player they are lagging and they try and deny that they are, but you can see that their purple bar has now turned red and is twice as long as everyone elses!

No, that means you are about to lag out...

The "game" only eats game packets

Why is game in quotes but eats not? Is someone really that bent over "It's a sim, not a game" but saying that it eats packets is totally kosher?

EDIT: Swapped it around. We'll see who edits it back.
Would be nice to have the option of switching them off though. They get smaller as you up the resolution, but it's still taking up space I'd rather have looking clean
