I like how every year, Bernie starts bleating to the press about how he's going to take the British GP away from Silverstone next year because their garage doors aren't shiny enough.

And yet at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, although it's a superb track, it's literally falling apart, and yet it's fine by Bernie.

But it isn't owned by the BRDC...
didnt bernie own circuit gilles villeneuve?

LMAO! that made me laugh lol.. also very true i can think of 2 other tracks witch are eyebrow raisers, silverstone is still in grate shape for f1 imo ok needs a few touches but...
well well well, I didnt see that result coming. Grats to Kubica, fantastic drive and well deserved.

As for Hamilton: lolz, muppet.
Quote from evilpimp :I think this is the problem. F1 cars should have at least a small little brake light. It would save lots of contact and people would at least know that the person is braking. For example when Massa was making a move on someone and was drafting. All of a sudden the person in front braked (or broke) early and Massa wasn't expecting it so he was lucky enough to bearly dodge it. If there was a brake light he could have seen it and braked almost instantly and stay right behind him.

Hamilton's crash would probably have been prevented if there was a brake light even a small tiny 1 lbs (or 500 grams) one.

I agree, a small useless brakelight is much easier to see than a big strong red blinking light.

He was too focused to overtake the others that he didn't noticed they were standing still. (I don't know how, good one: his helmet blocked his view.)
Quote from SamH :The pass looks great, but the condition of the track that made it possible is a disgrace.

IMO the pass only looked great and wasn't actually that great at all, merely good.

No offense to Massa, he's a good driver most of the time. I just think that pretty much any other car/driver on the track could have capitalised on that situation just as well. Rubens and Heikki brake slightly deep (an understandable mistake considering overtaking was occuring) and get on the crappy surface/marbles and get no traction till the straight. Massa gets to drive the much grippy line and cruises past them both without difficulty.

If the track were in a good condition that pass would most likely have not happened. To be honest the pass reflects a whole ton more on how crap the surface was rather than Massa's ability.

Like I say, it was a good overtake (from the point of view that he saw the opportunity and grabbed it firmly) but nowhere near as good as people seem to think it was.
Quote from Hockquan :IMO the pass only looked great and wasn't actually that great at all, merely good.

for me it looks like he didnt even plot to overtake either of them at that point
from the in car it looks a lot like he saw rubens running wide and made a quick decision to take the inside after that theres a slight hesitation after which he realizes heiki ran wide as well and decides to take an even deeper line... all without any silly karting dives or running any of them wide
Yay, another opportunity to link to a favourite F1 moment. All beautifully engineered by Michael Schumacher.
f1 is well and truely going downhill

82 - piquet punches salazar during the race
93 - senna punches irvine after the race
98 - schumacher very nearly punches coulthard
early 08 - coulthard (more of a 90s driver) threatens to punch massa
mid 08 - sutil does NOTHING

the new generation is so boing
later mid 08 - Kimi points at Hamilton.

Maybe we're going back up the scale?
I just thought it was funny when Kimi tapped Hamilton on the back and pointed him at the lights I just laughed.

How about Hamilton's father's face? haha, not to pleased huh?

Probably worried that he will get a bill for the damage to the Ferrari as well as the Porsche.

Hamilton's crash wasn't prevented by a great big red light or the sight of two cars stationary in front of him, a brake light wouldn't have helped. Brake lights would be useless on single seaters, if F1 drivers reacted to other drivers brake lights they'd soon be flying into Monaco harbour, the only modern purpose built high downforce racing cars that have a real use for brake lights are those that race at night.
all id like to know is... wheres intrepid?
A brake light would just be used to try to confuse and put off drivers trying to overtake, so would probably be more dangerous.

Hamilton could have looked for the huge light at the end of the pitlane, but didn't. Such is life - an embarrassing mistake which unfortunately, judging by his post race demeanour and interviews, did nothing to halt the creeping arrogance that could eventually consume him.
Quote from Shotglass :all id like to know is... wheres intrepid?

Probably on the phone to Hamilton consoling him. They're best friends because they both drove a kart at some point in their lives. From what I can gather from their posts, those two and Ayrton Senna are the only people who ever drove karts, so they're pretty tight.

does each have his own balls collection or do they have to share those 5 between them?
Quote from ATC Quicksilver :

Made these yesterday, I think we need to rename him Calamilton.

I was wondering what's the hidden message for some minutes hehe, "posiadał" is kind of word "had" (doh, this kind is 'own') used by grandpa when he say: 'He had a car.'
I can't find any word like 'owned' in polish, which you like to use in public places . And they are even not close to meaning of 'owned'...

I had to wait until 0:10 for repeat of race because of some rubish Poland - Germany game, in which we were owned. I decided to not read any sms and turn the radio off to isolate me from any information from Canadian GP. And I had one boring CD in car for a 2h way! I called home to tell them not telling me any word about race. Then everything collapsed, because GF called me with strange laugh and wanted to TELL me. Disconnect and sms ban for her immediately.
Maybe his engine exploded? Maybe he was taken out in T1 crash? Or maybe he is 2nd or 3rd?

It was painfull waiting, but the result was hell priceless! Go go Robert

Too bad for Kimi, he lost a podium for sure.

Someone should hack a paddock - hamiltons_helmet radio connection and put there:
"...iteration 3 6 2 7: RACE-IS-NOT-HOTLAPPING-SESSION..."

Not even red lights.

(and thank the crap translators for not finding me a decent Polish version of "owned")
Isn't he a smug, arrogant twat that Hamilton. Not only has he shown no more talent than is required to be in F1 (no flashes of real genius yet), he can't drive at 50mph safely.

I have footage from Rockingham of me driving down the pitlane and stopping at the red light. I can post it to Hamilton if you think it'll help.

But whilst the driving error is the sort of thing a granny would do, it was his attitude afterwards that really annoyed me. I've never ONCE seen this 'humble' Hamilton people go on about, but he's certainly not anymore.

What he needs is to spend a season or two in a crap car, and ideally get some sort of injury, like a broken leg (but not as badly as Peterson, obviously), and THEN he'll know how to behave.

I can't stand the twat. Worst thing to happen to F1 for years.
Nice attitude Tristan. Some really stupid and nasty comments in there

Yeah that irritated me too. I was thinking "If this was Webber he'd be apologising personally to every mechanic from both teams". But no, it was Hamilton, and he didn't even admit that it was his fault. The closest he got was saying "It wasn't quite a racing incident".
Quote from garph :Nice attitude Tristan. Some really stupid and nasty comments in there

Well, he's a disgrace to England and Britain, so it's not surprising.
