And what does this have to do with team manager apps?
Quote from Jakg :What do you expect LFS to do - grow more monitors or something?!

I have 3 and it does the windscreen + the mirrors (on both sides) fine. Get a few triplehead2go's connected to a SoftTH PC and then add some more monitors and your realism issue will fade away.

I just take the question "down to earth"
Nothing else

As long as just one little factor is not right - We can`t talk about a "real" simulator. My interpretation of the world is 80% through my eyes ! I do not know how you english people interpreet the world, but I guess it would be near my procentage.

The view is so important - SO SO IMPORTANT !!

I will never ever rest this case, and let me be forced into a 20 -25 degree view, by nobody. If this is a simulator. The view have to be improved - Somehow !

Simulators simulates the real world !! Think of this before you answer my answer. Or get this picture. Put a 21 inch screen on your dashboard, and look into that when you are driving your IRL car.

I rest my case here

A lot. A LOT !!

You really can`t have one, without another Consensus

EDIT :
You have a french flag, but location is Portugal ??
Another thought about this pit question.

If one could make several pitstrategies, and name them 1, 2 3 or 4 (or many more)

Then one could hit a F button and give the value (1, 2 3 or any number)

The given pitstategy would then be executed and so on.

But I still like the idea of a live team to alter the pit stategy
Um, Allan, that's a Dutch flag. :P

I think this is a brilliant idea, especially for enduro or team-based racing. It's exactly the sort of thing a crew chief does in real life and would certainly reduce the blind-hunting-for-keyboard-and-wrecking syndrome we all know and hate.

French, dutch !?
What`s the difference
I'm for it aswell, it would be really helpful for us in all longer races. As many people said here before, great idea.
Quote :definitely the best suggestion ive seen on here in ages would be great and would also really add to the aspect of being in a team.

Yep, as arrows said, great idea!

Quote from Gil07 :Not to mention there aren't enough server slots for that. 30 drivers + 30 team managers + admins is over 60 people

I'm sure someone will let you borrow the Promotech server
Great idea . Hope we`ll get it someday.
Yeah great idea +11111111212112121212121 BUT

What if you get a misunderstanding with the teammanager and he destroys the car setup??? Rollbarrs for instance? Could be hugely fun offcourse, but thats not a thing you want to happen. Also, not all the teams use teamspeak of ventrillo to communicate.

Its a really great idea, but you need to think about this, i think this can be a nice add for the game.

Fuel etc should be great, but what about the rest of the things you can change during a race.

I think the driver should still have the last word in this. Dunno if its technical possible, but also it would be nice if this could be handled outside of the server, i mean, otherwise other teams would know that your changing tactics or whatever, or you could do some sandbagging... Thats fun now i think about it but....

Dunno whats best, looking @ the server slots i think doing this in lfsworld or atleast outside of the server would be best, maybe through the lfs spectator?? But its only a one way data flow i think so....

Great idea, i hope they will have a look @ the possibilitie's, ive done some endurance races, moe etc... Sometimes its hard to change tactics if your pushing hard or having a big fight for position on the track.
truly excellent idea indeed and would help to stand LFS out among it's rivals!!!!!!

+1

The forementioned team manager obviously doesn't fit at as a team manager when he, by a misunderstanding or mishearing something, or even for fun (?!?!?) destroys the set? A fair amount of common sense will always do some good, and if the driver's request sounds unreal, the manager will obviously either ask again, or modify it within reason.

Hmm. the driver having the last word. Could be implemented as a F12-window-ish popup asking you, if these modified settings are fine? and you only press a key to either accept or decline them. Maybe.

If someone is team manager, you'd suppose he know what he's doing. Having the driver confirm it would just ruin the whole effect of the driver actually NOT having to be distracted by it And since when did a driver's opinion on strategy matter more that the team director's?
true. But I just answered to Koopa's post, that would eliminate ANY possible cock-ups. Obviously it is not an option, as having an irresponsible and just blatantly stupid team manager is also not an option, when you are into racing. I mean racing. not bangercruisedrifting.
+1 from me also
awesome idea
Quote from alland44 :I have done this kind of thinking myself, but never dreamed of this beeing implemented. i am for this, but I keep dreaming, myself, I !

Realism is not the game, in Lfs. They would have to solve the view first !!!

Nothing else matters. A 20 - 25 degrees view on a screen, is NOT realistic. So what do I care about this - Nothing !

Then we have to talk about the G-forces, the feelings of a real car. How do you implement that ?

But I would settle for the view, and go on from there. But NOT a 20 - to 25 degree inside view.

I can see at least 180 degrees in my IRL car. But who cares

How would you change that? The bottleneck is the hardware, not LFS. If you use multiple monitors you get a wider view, if you use freetrack ( http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=42422 )you get a wider view. Both allready possible with LFS.
