My mouse has a squeak
No really, it does

It's the mouse from the EX110 kit, and it's about 3 weeks old. Only today I've noticed that the left button has a terrible squeak whenever it's pressed. Extremely annoying, especially with my uber-quiet PC

Is there a simple fix to be had, or is it a faulty one? I don't want to go back into Argus and try and explain why my mouse is squeaking
It thinks it is the wrong kind of mouse.

Seriously mine used to squeak until it almost got ripped apart by the g25. Then is went alright.

I also fixed my router by hitting it :P

my mouse squeaks when i use the scroll wheel, its a good mouse squeaking noise. i find it quite funny actually.
If in doubt, give it a clout

(It actually works)

Agreed - especially with computers
i just got to say ive never loled so hard about a thread before, i can just imagine the conversation with the idiots in argos, well thats what there like at me local argos
It works with cars too:

Pre-clout:

One headlight not working

Post-clout:

Headlight working
Giving it a clout didn't do anything, so I took it apart (better a broken mouse than one that I can't use due to squeakiness, eh?). After trying to remove the cover, I heard a loud snap, followed by the cover coming off. Next thing I got hit in the face by 2 springs

The mouse wheel had also come off, and ran down my table into my bin. After a minute's fishing, and 3 hand washes later, I managed to bodge it back in. After re-assembling, I found the squeak had gone! But also, the wheel doesn't have "notches" anymore, and runs free. Which is really weird, but also much quieter and easier to use

So now I have 2 springs and I have no idea where they go

If you would like your mouse "notches" removed, PM me for my address

EDIT: Actually, it's the battery cover that's causing the squeaking...I did my tests with the cover off, but now it's back on. Oh well, it's Dremel time!

EDIT2: It's not...it's still squeaking! So no I have a broken mouse, that STILL squeaks! ARGHHHH!!!!
install CAT.
put some oil in your mouse, it should stop the squeking
Either buy a new mouse, or just spray some grease on anywhere you think will queiten it.
Great story, but yea. If the mouse was expensive and under warranty, get it replaced, else maybe deal? If the mouse was cheap, probably just replace it :P I've never had an issue with mice, maybe cause I have a cat too and they will be fed to the cat if they mess up.
Mouse was €30, but it was from Argos, who won't replace it as I've also broken the wheel "notches". I'm at a loss as to what's causing it, inside the hinges were well greased, and the actual button itself was silent. It only squeaks when the button is released, for whatever reason

I don't have a cat, maybe that's a problem. Stupid dog...
if it only squeaks when you lelease it then.........................don't release it, or put oil in it
