The final race of S2 Season 12 was held last weekend and the champions are crowned. In Div A this was a mere formality. Andy(GER) would need to score about all points he could with StormCloud taking none to keep Storm from winning the title. Andy didn't qualify in the top three so the decision was in before the race even started. That didn't meant the race was not interesting. What followed was a long and tiring race, with drivers on different strategies, some having to save fuel or tyres, and all coming back together in the final few laps of the race. spdoJosh lost his lead with a pitstop half-way through the race, but did came back and passed his teammate KilL3r in the final lap of the race. The top four finished within four seconds. A great finish to another entertaining season!
In Div B, IRT MaRDoX had a good lead over the rest of the field in the standings and just needed two decent finishes to win his first OWRL title. And with two finishes on the lowest step of the podium he did just that, ending the championship with more than 70 points ahead of the #2. For that 2nd place some changes were made. MarcG had two perfect races and scored a double win, leapfrogging him from fourth to second in the standings. Timurrrr lost that second position by one point, but still did a great job this season. Back to Kyoto National results, it looks like the top 8 reversed grid for race 2 had no impact on the results. The top three, MarcG, Rudy v. Buren and MaRDoX were exactly the same.
