well i purchased a second hand ati 9800 XXL with the previous owner saying its in perfect working order. Now after 7 hours figuring out how to get picture i now have some obstructing my picture. Ive tried everything G13 stated in a previous post to no avail.

If this cant be fixed it must be a broken card, so if anyone has any tips cause i really cant afford to spend anymore for quite awhile would be greatly appreciated

Check the temperatures, as it may be overheating, but it does look like the card is dead.
Did you also make sure to un-install the previous drivers from your old card and then install up-to-date ones for the card you have in there now?

If it´s not power- or driver related you could try to underclock your card. Graphics Ram and/or Graphics Processor Unit.

Thats exactly how my Graphics went on my old card when it went south

so its a definate move on and find something else

i tried atitool to no joy it seems to make things worse, ill just search fleabay for something in the up coming weeks

try looking for a new card
there are still new agp card for 40/50 euro's than u have new stuff with guarantee and shit :P
