Quote from wikipedia :acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ards), Also Known As respiratory Distress Syndrome (rds) Or adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (in Contrast With irds) Is A Serious Reaction To Various Forms Of Injuries To The lung.

According to Wikipedia
It's a basic (sort of) racing licence in the UK. From what I hear it is a theory test and a practical. I feel sure someone who has done it will actually know more.
Yeh, Well Its a 30 Question Theory .. 14 Questions on Flags.. Pretty easy.. 3 On Safety.. Pretty random... And the rest are General Racing.. like

What do you do if your Throttle Sticks?
ANS: Try to turn off Power or Clutch and Brake.

(thing is it didnt say to get out the way :S) Just Brake in the middle of the road?

Driving Is Depending on the Track.. Round Brands hatch they give you about 15 laps overall.. 10 Laps on instructing you and telling you the Lines, Braking points, Apex, And Place to change gear. The last 5 laps the instructor goes Silent, you just have to do Exactly What he told you to do.. All i had at the moment.. Was him saying in my head
"We Do Not want speed"
Everytime i thought of it i went faster.. As it was 230 bhp and had a turbo.. well i was doing 115 down Brabham Straight..

but he didnt say anything, the only thing that i needed to improve was bringing up the clutch a bit faster.. i kept slipping it but i passed.. i can drive like i want

Alistar iv been going round Circles for 3 years on Grasstrack, Going In Circles for 3 Years.. Well i dont regret not doing it

All you need is £650 and to be 14 and your sorted

ARDS stands for Asosciation of Racing Drivers I think.
is an ARDS test really 650 pounds these days?

It varies quite a bit from place to place, where I did mine at Mallory Park it was more like £400, but at fancy Motorsport Vision owned tracks such as Brands, its quite a but more expensive.

Yes, in 'racing money' £400 is cheap!
As a retired ('96 through illness) ARDS instructor I congratulate you on passing, as Tristan has said it isn't too hard to achieve but essential for racing, well done young man and long may you derive enjoyment from it.

Sam
Well its 400 but I had a private tutor so costs a bit more, it was a driving experience day so i was with a load of Single seaters

Thanks everyone, Nice community
Looking at getting my racing licence. Damn MSA want £60 for an application form! then add the ards test @ £250. Thing is i already have a blue book & can borrow the dvd so i only need the form.

Stupid red tape/duty of care bs will stop me from racing. Guess i'll have to stick to sprints.
