Restricted FBM Setup Request
I don't know why anyone would bother making a setup for me, but here goes...

Please could someone make a Formula BMW setup for Aston Cadet? Wait - there's a twist! The FBM I want the setup for has a 45% intake restriction imposed on it.

If you can't be bothered to make the setup, at least give me a few tips on how to change my normal FBM AS1 set to suit the restriction. And hurry - the race it is for is on the 27th of September!

Thx in advance...
move the final gear ration higher or lower(don't what is the good) and you can reach more speed and a little bit more power
Higher
Reduce downforce from the standard setup. Worth sacrificing a little corner speed to get some of your straight line speed back.
You're not talking about LFSBC Round 5 are you?

Last time I checked it was at Westhill with a Non-restricted FBM

Quote from LFSBC Calendar
:
Calendar (Saturdays, starting at 8.00pm BST)
Pre-Season get-together - 26/7/08 - various
Round 1 - 2/8/08 - BL1 - XFG/XRG – 16 laps
Round 2 - 16/8/08 - FE1 - UF1 – 30 laps
Round 3 - 30/8/08 - KY2 - TBO – 12 laps
Round 4 - 13/9/08 - AS3 – FOX – 2 x 7laps (half points for each)
Round 5 - 27/9/08 - WE1 - FBM – 15 laps (TBC – the track may change)
Round 6 - 11/10/08 - BL2 – XFG – 20 laps
Round 7 - 25/10/08 - AS5 – GT2 (enduro) – 20 laps w/pit stop

Has Jack changed it and told only you? Or something? or am I just failing here?
Yep

And yes, you are failing.

Round 5 - 27/9/08 - AS1 - Baby FBM (45%) - 32 laps

Or at least, I hope you are! It says the above in the 'one-stop shop' thread. Although it is closed. Hmm. I'm starting to doubt myself now...

EDIT: Proof!

Quote from J@tko :Pick the Formula BMW as your car. In the garage, click info, then on the right is 'volountary intake restriction' Move the slider to 45%, this makes the car slower

Well I'll have to punch Jack in the face for

1) Not telling me that he changed it
2) Not changing it in the signups thread

In fact he changed it before the beginning of the season...

A base set will be posted in the pre-race discussion thread. If you want one now:

R1 tyres
max pressure
no downforce
short gears
stiff suspension
lowish ride height

I swear I changed that

Thank you!
Well nobody told me.
Where have you got the idea that your knowledge reflects the universal knowledge of the human race?
Okay, thanks everyone!

J@tco - I was kinda expecting one to be posted on the thread, but, as I won't be contesting round 5, I wanted to get some early practice in.

hyntty - Constructive as ever!

Love that smiley!

JO53PHS you FAIL!!!
You think I don't know already?

:P

:P

uhmmmmm.......................................................................yes

I fail at failing so that makes it a win

Why would anyone restrict the FBM? Its hardly got any power as it is.
Quote from hyntty :No, you're nuts for using stupidly large pictures on a web page

Sorry, that I've come to saying this... but just go away! Stop flaming me for something totally unrelated to the topic we're discussing. You do it in practically every post you make.

They're not stupidly large at all. they just take a while to load cos they're hosted on the synthasite (free and therefore crappy :P) system.
Okay, just to be constructive for once, I've scrapped something together. I don't know if it's any good because I don't yet know what competitive laptimes will be like

I don't have time to try it out now, but thank you! I shall compare it to the set I've put together.
You should post this on the LFSBC forum
