Perhaps you could do some coverage of the V1 Championship? I should imagine it would have some broad appeal, anyway.
Today, we invited our first 3 candidates to Rockingham for the next phase in driver selection, which is ultimately to race a Formula Renault next year, in a fully paid seat with full team backing - a complete package, basically.
This is the first of (at current count) four different racing series that V1 feeds this year, so there is still 75% of the competition still to go before Christmas, and it's not too late for SRT watchers to get involved - even if they've never installed LFS before!
The V1 Championship is a real-world racing driver competition that has its feet firmly planted in LFS. V1 is the reason we got the Formula BMW in LFS, and the championship is free to enter - whether demo or S1/S2.
The V1 Championship happens in 3 phases. Firstly, candidates race their socks off in the V1 LFS practice servers. Secondly, the top performers in LFS are invited to psychometric testing. Lastly, the best candidates from LFS and psychometrics are invited to test at the track, have an interview (like a job interview), and ultimately one driver for each series will be offered the opportunity to launch their real-world racing driver career.
V1 is the brainchild of Jay Marshall, a former Formula 1 race engineer now based at Fortec Motorsports. The V1 LFS servers and virtual racing statistics collection systems are managed by UKCT, who you all know as the guys behind the CTRA servers, psychometrics by SHL Group (clever guys in white coats!) and V1 is, of course, partnered by many big names in the motorsports industry.
