I thought QOS is a great name! It's a really complex way of saying what James Bond really wants, but cannot get because he has to keep killing everyone. Put bluntly.

You just described Pierce Brosnan era films, especially the latter three films. I think they won't be going back to that now that Casino Royale was a critical and financial success.

Since nowadays nearly all movie trailers are edited in very similar way, similar cuts, with similar "phases", it usually tells nothing about the quality of the movie. I sometimes wonder if the directors even have any input on the trailer. Casino Royale trailer was just as boring.

No, trailers are done by different editors and directors, who are specialised on doing trailers. Still it sucks that most of them spoil the film rather than we the appetite. The last trailer I can remember which did not give away too much was fight club, which is one of my favourite movies, actually.

On topic: I too think that Craig is the best Bond since Connery, allthough I also liked Timothy Dalton. I dislike the Brosnan Bonds for their very effect and product placement driven movies, and not his performance.
