McLaren's Head of Race Operations heads to NASCAR
And it couldn't even be a good team?

Instantly thought the same thing.
Think Gil's hit the nail on the head TBH. Plus he's probably fed up of all the bullshit that's being going on in F1 the last few years, or maybe he just fancies a new challenge.
Although if next years NASCAR looks even vaguely like an F430 then a few questions need to be asked.
