Both the BTCC and Ginetta championships were decided in their first races of the day, with the Ginetta being the more entertaining of the two yet again!
That was the biggest crash in the BTCC I have seen in years, huge. Hope he is okay, looks like they are being really careful, wouldn't be suprised if he has some injuries after that.
Damn, that was hard impact. Thank god he's allright.
Reminds me one huge crash from last year at Brands.
And Fabrizio won, that's nice. I would rather smash my head than seeing Potato winning title. Just wondering, where will he go next year instead of Seat.
At first I thought Turner (excuse the pun) turned across and hit him, but from that video you can see John George weaved across the track. I have to agree with a comment made on that video, a guy that started racing at 40 years old and has crashed out in just about every race, should not be in the BTCC...and that's saying something.
It is the second huge accident at that exact spot in BTCC from senseless car to car contact, only time before something like what happened at the Britcar race is caused by avoidable contact and there will have to be a pretty radical shake up of driving standards.
I can't see George weaving, he held his line straight on? The Seat driver was on a crash course from the start and didn't back off as he should be... Worse still, he turned in on George when they made contact to ensure George spins out! I hope Turner got severly punished for that...
Does someone need to die before they take a look at their appaling standards? The way it is now, it's only a matter of when...
