If it's turning over and not firing, check your spark plug.

Make sure the fuel tap is on too. Try starting it with some choke on.

Looks like you'll be taking the train today.
Just hope it's something simple, like a dead spark plug or coil pack. It could quite easily be a knackered bore/rings/piston, so you haven't got enough compression to run. Had that on a two-stroke before and the symptoms were identical to what you suggest (but so are dead plugs etc).

Good luck on the train. Probably best to get a chemical dip after mixing with the great unwashed in the mobile disease spreader, err, I mean train.
It's a 2007 bike. It's done 967 miles, and it's not an ex racer bike.

It also had auto fuel, no tap.

Age doesn't really come into it. If it hasn't been warmed up properly every single time before any meaningful load has been put on it, and not necessarily by you but by the dealers, the garage that services it etc, then the chance of piston/ring/bore damage is massively increased. It only takes one "oh sod it, it'll be okay this once" to potentially wreck them.
Well I'm back from a ride, it'd been charged for 3 hours, used for around 45 miles over town and fast a road stuff, and now I'm back home.

It's very responsive, sensible power (enough to keep up) out of the powerband, stupid fuelling holds it back between 5500 and 6100 rpm, and no extremely wierd sounds.

Brakes are amazing :jawdrop:

(Problem before was a very fouled spark plug).

It started first time after a new (read cleaned the old one with white spirit and a wire brush) one was put in, and now it sits on a charger overnight until the morning.

(Only problem(s) now are/is getting used to the clutch, and the amount of revs needed to pull away, the bitey brakes and learning that I can't turn like I could on the CG125 I did my test on (Fab little bike that was.))
