Well I got one of those with only 1,500 views on a video, so I'm guessing you're right and it's either an automated system or someone paid to search the videos.

Basically, yeh they sample references, they do the same with video, for example if you uploaded a music video of a band, if it was ripped from the official video on another page, it would match it and banhammer!

Youtube removes videos only when someone (copyright owner) reports the video. That explains why video B is still there while video A was removed, regardless of when the videos were uploaded and how popular they were.

It means when some e.g. record company asks them to remove some video(s)/material(s), Youtube has to do it or they're going to get lawsuit. DMCA is basically only reason why Youtube still exists because obviously large portion of the videos are copyrighted.

There also interesting aspect to this, which I realised not so long ago... Youtube (or Google) is basically making money with illegal videos (ads). As far as I know 4 video removals are allowed, from fifth the whole account gets deleted.

On the upload page it pretty clearly says copyrighted videos should not be uploaded (but of course no cares, neither do I), so its not like Youtube has insulted your human rights.

There is some kind of video matchig system. I don't know how it works. Someone is probably also browsing it 24/7.

The ad system you and ATC Quicksilver mentioned is also part of this video matching system, which was introduced since the beginning of 2008.

It basically helps videos to stay on youtube.

You can also see the "matched" videos from your account settings:



Some companies have this policy, some companies have zero tolerance (e.g. F1 commercial rights holder Formula One Management).

Under Age-Of-Consent = Child Porn (i.e. UNDER 16 in the UK). A 16 year old still isn't allowed to make porn though - they have to be 18 (WTF).

as far as I'm aware the term 'child porn' is used only when a child under the age of consent is actually involved in some sexual act with another person. Images and stuff like that video are counted as indecent images of children, not child pornography

I guess I was right then muhaha for a change, and anyway if a girl is on your bed of the same age, let's say doing 'stuff' and you record it does it count as child porn?

Isn't it fairly obvious, Child = Under 18, Porn = Ask your Mother what that means.

Can we end the child porn chat LOL? There probobly alot of page visits from people who don't even play LFS for alllllllllllllllllll the wrong reasons.

If you are like 15 and you happen to be watching under-age porn, I don't think any serious harm with come to you.

That said, in the UK, the age is 16 and so therefore underage (child) porn is under the age of 16. If you're under this age, if you are watching it, you'd probbably just get a slap on the wrist, however if you were tapping it, you could be done for statutory rape, even if it was consensuel.

In the US, it's 18. So it applies slightly differently.

Either way, if you're a 55 year old man with 25gigs of the stuff, you're gunna get done, if you're a horny teenager wanting to rub one off, I doubt you'd get in trouble.

UK law distinguishes between statutory rape and consentual sex with a minor, the latter whilst still illegal, carries a much reduced sentence. Something US law doesn't recognise.
