You can't really compare this to spore (it's more like Phun). Spore was limited in what you were able to do. In little big planet, the only real limitation is your own imagination and skill.
Ok, there are limits... like the size of levels, number of building materials, etc. But other than that, you can create just about anything you can come up with.
I am usually not the person to "inovate" impressive stuff in those kind of creative things. Usually i am just messing around and enjoy that the most, hehe. But there are people who create some seriously cool stuff... just look around on youtube a little.
The best part of the game however, is that you can "play" the levels you create. It's so much fun to build something... with buttons and levers, engines, blabla, you name it... and then actually play the level, drive the car you've built, fly the rocket, etc.
Point is...
It's by all means a "full game". It's done very well. The presentation, gameplay, graphics, details, controls... everything is done well. The editor is endless fun and, regarding the fact it's on a console, very good!
Thing is, if you don't like the concept... you could care less about "creating" your own stuff in a videogame... then this really is well wasted money.
