Contacted do0f concerning my ban, no reaction
Hello CTRA community,

about 3 weeks ago I had written a private message to d0of concerning my ban to be erased. I had been banned since the end of June 2008 and I really regret what I have done in those days, as I also mentioned in the pm's. Unfortunately I didn't receive any answer, neither from him nor from other admins.

I am waiting for a very long time now and really would like to race on CTRA servers again. If I'm gonna contract debts again, you can ban me if you want :P, but I promise I won't!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

regards
Martin
See this thread. You won't get any reaction from d0of. He/she/it only acts. If he/she/it hasn't unbanned you... well, draw your own conclusions

Maybe if you're lucky another admin will review your case.

Well, I read all those threads about d0of, but actually I would like to change this situation anyway -.- I know that I ****ed up a bit, but if I could I really would change it.
The problem is that I can't protest against my bans, I can't connect to the server, neither contact any admin of CTRA.

I know that my maneuvers were really bad, but that evening I had been drunk a bit..this is not an excuse, but maybe an explanation. All infractions I got had been sent on the same day. Usually I am a very fair and clean driver!

Maybe any other admin might contact me to reconceive this case
You should be able to login to your MyCTRA page. That is, if you have set a password and remember it. Then you can view the reports (this, this and this) and file an appeal. At least I think that's the way it works, I've never done it myself

On a related note, I've noticed that quite a few people have been coming on here requesting for their ban to be lifted because they have realized that they were wrong and they have "changed". Some of them (or maybe all of them?) have been given a second chance. My opinion is a little dubious on this. I think that once you've been banned permanently, you shouldn't be allowed back in. There is no excuse for any behaviour that's against the rules, everyone makes their own decisions and should suffer the consequenses. It appears to me that people who have been banned don't mind that much at first, but then after a while realize that the CTRA servers are just one of the best around and they start feeling sorry that they can't race there anymore. Well, "tough luck" is what I say.

On the other hand, though, if a person has really changed his/her attitude after having been banned from CTRA then I guess that can only be seen as a positive result, and maybe they should be let back in. But sometimes I just get the feeling that they're let off a bit too easily. "I'm sorry, I messed up, but I'm a different person now. Can I get back in pls?" just seems to come a bit too easily

The problem is that I hadn't set a password before when I was still racing on CTRA servers, but now I can't set a password either That's my problem, I just can't do anything.. this forum is virtually my last chance now.

I understand your attidude on this and I know that it was my fault to show such a bad behavior, but as I said before everything happened during the same evening, almost never before anybody had complained about me.
This is why I am asking for forgiveness, I don't know what I am supposed to do now.. I'm almost banned for half a year now

regards
Be patient, I'm sure one of the CTRA admins will respond here.

The reason you haven't heard from do0f is likely to be because it isn't 6 months since you collected your ban. After you've been banned, you have a week to get an appeal submitted. If you don't get an appeal in in that time then you've missed your opportunity to have the report reviewed and possibly the judgement overturned. In the case of permanent bans do0f has said that appeals may be considered after 6 months if sent by PM, but appeals sent before then will not.

We ban people that we don't want corrupting our racing and/or our system, and we do it to protect the racing experience of our racers. If we do unban drivers after 6 months, it's always probationary. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not.

I'll close this thread now, as all questions have been answered.
