I think that people could use real flags/countrys where they live. Ive seen few users with wrong information, thought that it would be much nicer if the information is right. Location means where u live, not where u have born.

Why do you need to know that information? It's everyone's own decision what country he claims to be from. I know people who claim to be from various exotic countries just because it looks good but in reality, they are from USA

I think you have too much time on your hands to think about such things.
