Any Plans For a LFSLapper-type Feature?
I think that's what it's called - as one goes through each split divider, in the chat box is shown your split time and how much it varies from your pb. It's green if you're under, red if you're over. I really like this feature and miss it when driving on CTRA. Are there any plans to add a feature like this to the X-system?
I hope not - I find it more of a distraction than anything else. Maybe if it was optional then it would be a good addition.

One line of text in the chat box is a distraction?

Seriously?

You know you can block messages, right?
I think this is not a bad idea. Maybe its just me, but yest for example, i was having a bit of a meh...

I was 0.4 under my PB thru 1st split and 0.4 slower than my pb over full lap. Lucky for me it was a 2 sector track only so it was pretty easy to pin point hwere i was slow.

But this may come very handy for the longer 3 split tracks where you dont get the accumulated split time, u get the actual time between splits...

Or is this maybe old news?
I see more CTRA servers as race servers, where lap times are not so important.
Of course the Moose up here often ends up alone in front in hotlap mode, while we slowpokes have good fights at the back , there I can see a good use.

What could be fun is a insim applied restriction on a dedicated server to even the field, based on CTRA performance (time / race performance) on the specific combo used.
Any thoughts on that crazy idea?

There are no plans for this type of feature in CTRA. Although I can see the appeal of seeing/comparing splits, the $PB system is as close as we want to get to the hotlapping aspects of racing.

Once you get down to individual split .ms level, the focus has moved away from side-by-side racing competition. Other drivers stop being co-competitors and become obstacles in the way of you achieving something that, at the end of the day, isn't actually at all what CTRA is about. Split.ms is useful in a competitive oval circuit but I'm pretty sure even the FM guys would agree that on the CTRA it would do harm rather than good.

It's a lovely theory but it's not ever going to work in practice. Drivers are already grouped by the concurrent qualifying system, so the fast guys are level with equally fast guys, slower with slower, working down the grid. When the same or similar group of drivers have raced together for half an hour or more, the field tends to gain a kind of synchronicity.

In a nutshell, I can think of nothing worse than a dynamic restriction/ballast system causing everyone to arrive at T1 at the same moment

I think he meant the other annoying "features" where 1 "good/great/awesome split/lap" message is thrown at you every 5 seconds. The information about only your own split are actually very nice, I agree.
