Quote from Furiously-Fast : Now that there are S-2000 cars for WRC 2010, we'll see 207's, Protons, Corsa's and C2's on the courses. How that can be (much) entertainment, I'll never know.

 You honestly think the other big names like Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford, Citroen and Suzuki can't homologate a car for that class like the WRX, evolution X, focus, SX4, ext.?

Quote from Scrabby :And then they decide to throw away the Group N racers and replace them with lawnmowers?!

Too bad actually... I remember when Solberg won the World Championship in his blue subaru... Not to be repeated now, I think..
"The withdrawal of Subaru and Suzuki in the last 24 hours leaves just two manufacturers in the sport - Citroen and Ford."
If next season is gonna be any fun to watch. .. Loeb has to loose ;D

I wouldn't be suprised to see a few privateer/ semi-factory supported Subaru's running TBH.

Hopefully running older model, the new Impreza looks just horrible.

Quote from deggis :Do you think Subaru expected to use the same model, proved to be uncompetitive, whole next decade until last friday when S2000 was confirmed? S2000 as the sole reason just doesn't add up.

Also this doesn't sound like future of WRC turned them off...

.

so as I said, they had need a lots of investments and developments to be competitive in WRC spec cars, which will end soon anyway, so why not pull out now and "consider the future".

and where did I said I expect Subraru to keep the same model the whole next decade~? or that S2000 was the "sole" reason for them to pull out~?

all that I said was there were RUMOURS that Suzuki and Subraru not liking the S2000 rules BEFORE the financial crisis, which was also reported on Autosport. Something along the lines of why bother throwing plenty of money on developing their uncompetitive WRC spec machines when it'll be ditched in a couple of years anyway, and I believe Subraru has said something even stronger, but the S2000 rules has since been modified...

Obviously there was a goal to do that and be competitie with the car. If the new car wasn't a bad idea at least it was unfortunate timing.

Ok, misunderstanding then. You replied to my reply which was originally reply to DeKo...

S2000 idea must have been in the planning long time already. It could not have been a surprise for Suzuki/Subaru.
prodrive moving to F1 is old news that has not changed since it's first mention last season.
The 2007 Prodrive was a different issue as it was them running customer McLarens as a new team - with the FIA's decision not to allow customer cars (a stupid one) that one died. This Prodrive F1 effort would be Dave Richards buying Honda ... different circumstances.

And back then he had an Icelandic main sponsor, which is now in deep shit.

Which sponsor was that?
Kerry Katona.

no, writing FIA has always been allowed here
We all need to go to the stages and through things at Loeb so someone else can win. He is one of the Best rally drivers ever, but its going to get abit monotonous;

1 : Loeb 4h 51m 51s
2 : Hirvonen 4h 52m 30s
3 : Latvala 4h 52m 35s
4 : Sordo 4h 53m 25

With the last 3 being interchangable in position.
