ok people get a grip of yourselves and settle down.
LFS for me is two things. Firstly it is a community of race-heads. I love racing, 4 wheels, big engine, flappy paddle gearbox and some of that ponsy aerodynamic wing things that Tristan hates, yeah - I love it. I love the thrill of racing myself and I enjoy talking to other people who do the same.
How I ended up on a sim racing board rather than a real one, well I guess that's because of the other thing that LFS is to me...
Insim. I'm a programmer by trade, by passion, and by default (as I cant do anything else) and LFS allows me to mix my interest for programming with my interest for racing without me having to write my own sim (which I did start to do once, a loooooong time ago, but was never finished because one of the artists was stealing media from the NFS mod scene so I left).
I may one day write my own sim again, but until then you'll just have to put up with me. Anyway cricket pays my bills these days and by the time i've done a day programming that the last thing I want to do is more coding on sports games. With LFS I can code as I want, if I was making my own sim i'd have to start and finish before doing anything else.
