Agreed as well.
Using axis clutch it is a non issue for racing conditions, and in fact the clutch is too permissive in my opinion because it allows loads of flat shifting in some of the cars.

Maybe the burning clutch syndrome comes from cruise server users? I have never tried that so I do not know if the clutch will behave correctly in "real life" traffic use, and do not know if the cruise users have properly geared cars.

Another possibility is the autoclutch issues. As said above it tends to burn the clutch, because it is sometimes slipping clutch when it should not (ex: spinning an going backwards full speed, top gear engaged - the autoclutch engages the clutch for the car to go forward, resulting in instaburn).

Third issue is not clutch related: with the current LFS model a lot of setups have a first gear tuned for fast launches off the grid, often a very long 1st gear. The current model also makes it faster to launch full throttle (full burnout still give enough grip). Both combined produce a clutch killer, of course!
It's probably worth mentioning that clutch strength in LFS is calculated based on the torque (same calculation in nearly all cars iirc) of the engine.

This is presumably why you have to try *really* hard to burn it out in a car with mountains of torque, like the FZ5 and it's so easy in some others.

As mentioned somewhere above, the auto-clutch does tend to 'ride' more than it should. I discovered that over Christmas when I had to use auto/button clutch instead of my G25 for a while - first time I've ever got a clutch too warm while racing (aside for a few times in the RB4 - I abuse that car too much sometimes ).

LOL, first auto users then cruisers, I wonder who you people are going to blame next time for shortcomings in LFS clutch.

Is LFS clutch perfect? no
is it a big issue? probably not
is it fine to pretend it's perfect? you decide...
Read the rest of the sentence before jumping around
Or at least quote it, so that I can retain some dignity!
I said the clutch (temp, not damage - non existant) model is sufficient for racing and had not tried cruising...
Quote from S14 DRIFT :Yeah, our cars clutch overheats every time we go shopping and my bikes clutch overheats every time I commute to work. Super realistic.

I used to think the same about the clutch until I did an experiment in my Seat Leon (company car so I do what I want to it ).

I was sat in traffic, in first gear, and was slipping the clutch on purpose. It only took TWO attempts at pulling away and the clutch started slipping. In fact I was quite scared because I couldnt accelerate!!!

I was only slipping the clutch at about 3000 revs ( because I was scared of doing major damage) and can specifically remember at the time thinking wow, this feels alot like LFS. Clearly this is not definitive evidence but it did alot to convince me. Maybe some other people with more experience than me can confirm something similar?

As others have said above I think alot of the perceived clutch problems are more to do with the autoclutch.
