The online racing simulator
Unusual ways for training for specific track combos
Of course, there is always hotlapping and racing online.
But I didn't have a CTRA Gold license to race the FXR-GT2s which are used in iTCC, and I don't think there are servers which raced such cars...

When I train on a track combo with a intake restricted car, usually I'll have a field of AI cars with same or slightly less intake restriction than me. But, in that group of AI cars lies one with significantly less restriction than my own car. He will usually be setup to be fast enough so I can *just* see him, but if I mess up, he will run away and never been seen again (unless I'm getting lapped). Once I am able to keep up with him for a few laps, the intake restriction on his car is then made lower, enough so I still can't keep up. In effect, this basically means no matter how hard I try, I will never be able to overtake him.

If it so happens I have to race with an unrestricted car, I give one/a few AIs cars which are a little faster than my own. These could be restricted intake GTRs with slicks, LXs, so on if I'm racing TBO etc...

I wonder if anyone else does this.

I do in smilar way, if I get you correctly.
Since AI's are slower, I give them slightly faster cars and try to beat them.
if i read this right you do tyhe same sort of training as me. I note down my Best lap times and conpare them when i get around to racing the same track again.
And of course being a (geek) I compriced myself a little racing league X amount of rounds Bot skill vaireys depending track and how im feeling normal it on quick but when im feeling up to it it pro. but as always im never in the top 15 lol but its fun and im getting better
I usually beat the ai at 'quick', but not a cat in hells chance at 'pro'. I don't need to restrict my car in any way. Does this mean I'm crap, and does my erm... crapness mean I'm not yet up to racing online yet?

It doesn't really matter how fast you are, so long as you're doing your best to avoid crashes.

And to be honest you need to go online to learn how to avoid crashes properly anyway, so go online.

I beat an Ai who was driving a XRR with a XFR (quick level) is that good or should i race him in Pro? (pro is quite hard for that type of practice)
I don't know, I never really bothered with the GTRs.

Go online and see how you get on. People drive a lot differently to the AI, it will be a totally different experience.

you are very correct there. but its good to be on SP to get to know the tracks.

other things like braking etc is better to do online

I do something like that, basically since I have to focus on the race instead of my own driving, I tend to race in a more instinctive way which is sometimes faster. For that to work the AIs must be slightly slower than me though. Online I tend to be more conservative, so Single Player has its usefulness IMO.
