Ok, sorry about the weird thread title. Didn´t really know how to describe the problem in a few words.

The problem is that when I close the lid on my laptop, it should go to "stand by" mode automatically but it doesn´t. Instead it goes to "stand by" when I close AND then open the lid. So my question is, how do I fix that? Is it possible with messing with software or do I need to take it to the... uhm... computer repair dudes? The laptop is a... it´s says "Dell Vostro 1000" on it, so I guess that´s it. And it´s running Windows XP.
