lfs remote bug (hostname encoding, autocross)
trying to view my servers using lfs remote only works if i choose the server from the list, if i use a direct url, it doesn't connect.

eg: http://www.lfsworld.net/remote ... bunbun%27s+funfun+RB4-bnj

turns into "bunbun\'s funfun RB4-bnj", and therefore the remote doesn't connect.

i also noticed it loaded the map for 8-lane-drag instead of the skid pad... technically they're the same track, but the starting focal point was displaced because of it.

It works at me
weird...

at work (firefox 3 on windows xp) it screws up the apostrophe, at home (firefox 3 on gentoo linux), it does the same thing, except the hostname is nothing but a rectangle.
even weirder... i get into work today, and the links work fine here now. what gives...

(aside from the autocross thing that is)

edit: it also has problems with scrolling now... before it would scale the screen elements to fit the window, but now everything is 10-15 pixels too tall, and scroll-zoom also scrolls the entire page at the same time.

double edit: still have the rectangle hostname issue listed above too. (but only on my gentoo laptop, odd. but i don't have any other linux machines with a gui and a browser to test others)
after a few days of playing with it, i've come to the conclusion that it only affects firefox 3 on linux... (although i didn't check firefox 2)

it seems any hostname i feed to http://www.lfsworld.net/remote/?host= turns into a rectangle.

but also from playing with it, half the time i wanted to connect to a host (from the host list), it would ask me for the optional admin password, to which i ignore and click ok... then it proceeds to tell me "invalid password"... eventually i was able to get it to connect to one host, but then flash froze firefox... and then i tried it again for a while and it would either say "invalid password", or never actually connect... only rarely letting me connect to a host. it would take a good 20-25 refreshes of the entire page to get anywhere though.

i don't think my flash is to blame, as youtube and other flash sites work fine.
Flash 10, firefux 3.2a1, Win se7en - fine.
Flash 10, firefux 3.1, linux boobuntu - fine.
#7 - lvlo
and now instead of a rectangle, i get two apostrophes.

Quote :I have the same issue. Probably flash+firefox bug there...

well isn't that peachy...
I tested Remote with an Eee PC (Xandros Linux), Firefox 2, and Flash 9. Worked well with some lag, this is because of the old Intel Celeron processor mine has.

Alternatively, you can run the Windows executable version with Wine.
i'd rather downgrade firefox and flash... i've already been tempted to downgrade firefox because of some scrolling lag issue.
bunder, Chromium (open source version of Google©® Chrome©®) will be released for Linux soon, maybe u will like it.

won't let me use firefox extensions.
Oh, yeah, forgot about it.

I can't live without AdBlock Plus, too.

Also Stylish, greasemonkey, Firebug, fast video downloader, clipmarks, etc.
