ummm that took 18 hours?
Quote from JJ72 :ummm that took 18 hours?

"that"? It's a damn big work, I'm making one atm too and you have to be so precise about every part in the car..
I've worked just on the rims for 60mins now.
I'm erasing layers all the time and improving over and over again until it's perfect, that is what takes the time.

Maggot has done very very good work just in 18hours. It will take much more work from me to do something like that.

I dunno, if you are more familiar with it it shouldn't take more than 5 hours judging from what I see. Not like you are doing photorealistic perspective drawing.
Wow! really impressing! Thats not gonna happen from me
Looks amazingly realistic, really nice work. Ive done couple of virtual moddings, and those took like days and days to do. And all parts not even maded myself. And you made this hole thing to yourself, nice! Like to see more of this

It's not about doing, it's about to designing too. Of course you could make that in 2hours if you have already draw the carlines etc

+ It doesn't matter if it's photorealistic perspective drawing or like maggot has done, the same work on both.

You should try before telling that this can't take so much time..

hmmm you know what photoshop is the single most used program on my laptop.

And I draw cars.
Quote from ACCAkut :Wow very cool. And btw, with "vector" shapes you mean something like the path tool? I don't have Photoshop, just GIMP

The pen tool in photoshop can work in three ways - raster shapes (you draw a perimeter path and it creates a shape filling that perimeter), vector shapes (vector path. Sam eas the raster shapes except it remains editable like a vector) and vector path which is just the path, from which you can then create selections, stroke the path etc. I'd imagine GIMP's tool would probably work like the second method, but I can't say for sure as I've never used it. I've stuck with Photoshop for years now.

Quote :And is that the Masters Of Endurance Logo (MOE)?

Ah crap I forgot about that one. The original design was by Quicksilver for the MOE logo competition last year. He gave me permission to borrow the logo to use, so I re-drew the logo in vector (or high res? I don't recall now). Totally forgot that one was on the car, I've gotten so used to using it on skins I forgot it wasn't actually mine

Quote from DevilDare :Bet you could do better.....

I bet JJ could, actually. I've seen some of his 'quick' edited screenshots. He's immensely talented, much more so than I.

Thanks for the comments all

Then you should know that these are not 2sec work.

I bet he couldnt. Editing and drawing is two different things. I would like to see try it.
Finished.. not even close to yours but manages. Around 10hours of working, just in boring days/nights.
I might continue this project further.. not now though

thats really nice maggot, also pretty nice u too tomba but i think it needs still to be worked on tough.
also, you ppl got me inspired too, altrought im making the car kinda over the original picture, everything is made from scratch in it(exept the cf texture) so i quess im a bit like cheating in it anyway i might post some pics soon
edit:now, this is how far ive gotten. dont mind if thats a little low res on pics, its only on 50% of the zoom. this takes alot of time, ive done 4-10 hours on this. havent counted but used alot. continuing it this weekend. the other pic includes the rest of the parts i need to do. car is ktm x-bow btw
Thats vey interesting. However, some parts dont look like they have been drawn in PS.

Yeah I know, there is no effects or nothing yet i just finished the outer shapes of the car... I'll continue this when I have time
Nice work, both of you!
If mated...?

The way I posted those may have been confusing... but that is official studio photo (or render?) of the Acura and the other one is an illustration released by Aston Martin Racing

Both are photoshop (or similar) drawings. The Acura just had more time put into it. That Acura one was my base (most of mine was traced from, as well as a lot of the value information) and some other details from the Aston.
