The online racing simulator
The Next Generation In Gaming? - http://www.real-timeracing.com/
There is a new simulator coming out soon, claiming to have racing in Real-Time against the Real drivers, in the Real cars on Real tracks.

Have a look, it looks interesting...

There are already at least two threads about that already.

So uhm, just is just a race sim, but with some iOpener? What is this sim, and what is that iOpener? I can't really be bothered to read it, could anyone explain me?

you load up a game like rfactor and say youre watching f1 on tv you can load up rfactor and f1 and go on the track there racing and you can race with them and see where they are on youre pc
Quote from SilverArrows77 :racing sim where you could possibly race ingame againts real life drivers via a data stream of whats happening on a real track, or replay historical races via data on those races.

Dont know how to explain it better than than briefly - its a strange concept that i wont be able to get my head around until I see it in action... on the plus side, if the physics are decent it might make for another decent sim on the market, but i fear they will be putting most effort into the strange iOpener concept more than physics

theres some media pics on polepositiondriver there on rfactor and there at a racetrack and they had a pc set up in the pits and there was a porsche on track and you can see it in the screen shot ingame but on track aswell

I got sent this link the other day, and have pre registered on the off chance of beta testing or more info...im not holding my hopes up at all, but cant hurt to pre register and see what information comes out of it

nice. i like the idea of racing 'recorded' races that have already happened

Wow, that sounds cool! Just wondering, how about crashing? If you bump a car, they won't crash irl ofcourse...

Or will they?.........
i want to know what would happen if the car crashed and lost a wheel would the game detect that it lost a wheel if the game didnt have damage or didnt look like hit was enough to lose a wheel

I wonder how fun itd be if what you did ingame happened ontrack. Id jump out my car ingame and turn everyones engines off haha.

Im guessing it wouldnt bother with checking if its lost a wheel, all it would do is move the car to wherever its crashed.
I would only play it if my virtual car also controlled a real full-scale RC car on the track, in-race.

Even if it was just to play realtime Carmageddon in a race that should have been a BTCC, DTM or F1 race.
