Hey Guys,

Team Rock Racing and Lan of Legends, are organising a Dutch Lan Party this year.
It will be the TR&F Lan Party 2009, where racing is a big thing!
The location (the library of Aalst) has offered us free space and equipment in their building.

The location is:

Bibliotheek Aalst
Leesakker 1 Aalst

The date is official:

The 12th of September 2009

Costs will be:

€ 20,-
With drinks, food, competition prices, etc. included



Some more info:

Alcohol will be accepted by now, BUT only a few beers.
Using to much alcohol might get you removed from the event.

There will be a competition where 3 trophies can be won!

The location is set.

At the end of the event one person will take home a TR&F Lan Party 2009 T-shirt!

The rules have been posted on the website.

You will have to pay the Sunday before the event.

Food and drinks are included in the price.

The 3 competitions are:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Live For Speed S2
Trackmania Nations

There is now some information about the Live For Speed S2 Competition:

There will be 5 races, of an average length of about 4 to 10 laps.
Race 1: XRT&FXO @ Blackwood Grand Prix Reversed
Race 2: FO8 @ South City Chicane Route
Race 3: XFR&UFR @ Fernbay Green Reversed
Race 4: FXR @ Kyoto Ring Long
Race 5: FBM @ Westhill Grand Prix

Ahh, all these good and fun things around on this forum, and they are in freakin' Dutch-land (typo). Can't you make something a little closer.. like denmark? Or even Norway or something, just a little closer to the north. I'd pay any price, if there is a nice bounch of people.

Aswell that the price probally would be around ..well several thousands NOK..

You can do a week retour flight from torp to dusseldorf for only 30 euro's.
And maybe I could arrange to pick you up there

I don't understand this poll. If you've got an event which costs money to participate in and you've got a supplier for foods and drinks as well, won't the price be the entry fee, food and drinks added up?

Or does the price depend on the quality of services, so for example for a tenner you would get a tin of spam and get to drink from a hose?

Well at the LAN from Lan of Legends where I was.
There where many 1,5Liter bottles of Cola, 7up and Fanta.
Plus 48 energy drinks.
And in the evening you got Frites with a Snack and Sauce for diner.
And also there was a super market very close to the LAN-Party place.

And yes then the food and drinks would be included in the costs

I need to think about it, and see how it schedule with the work and such. If it turns out to be a big happening I'll see what I can do.

I find the price reasonable. For good lan parties the prices can be 10-20Euro for the entry, while the 10+++ other would be for one meal (maybe two since it's two days?) and some drinks.

If there is a meal or two the price in total is not much if it's 30-40 Euro.

Edit : I think Rockclan tries to tell that there is a free meal or two included in the price, aswell as some big sodas standing around, free for the people on the LAN to drink. Am I correct?

That's right.
The LAN-Party they organised where I was at, was only 12 hours long.
And costed 10 euro's.

No mate.
It just will be one price for the whole package of:

LAN-Party
Competition Trophies
Foods and Drinks

That is normal

In most competitions like these you pay an entry fee. Most of the money goes to cover the costs, while the rest goes for prizes.

No, i'm just considering if i have the money to book a plane ticket, a hotel room maybe or steal rockclan's house and the money for the lan.

Yeah, I am thinking the same. One part of me would LOVE to come see such many LFS'ers, and have a cool weekend with them. But there are so many things that causes it to be a pain in the ass aswell, like travvel and such. Even if the money wasn't a problem the travvel itself is a pain.

Would be great if we could get the LFS community to meet somewhere.. like Denmark, and have a huge ass lan party and fun weekend. Denmark is between most of the countries, and are easly accessable with boat, plane and such. Even England would be a better choise. For me that is rougly a 12 hour trip, and that is ok. (train 5-6 hours (then some wait) + boat (5 hours if I remember correct).
Also it would be easier for others in countries nearby to get there.
Finland ain't that far away from it either

I don't have much money but do want to deliver you guys and myself a great event.
That's why it is inside the Netherlands.

As posted before anyone from outside NL is welcome at my house to stay for a longer time even.

What if we all try to sort it out? Meaning the responsibility and costs will not just be your burden to bear

For example, we could have LAN, or just a social weekend in a place like..uhm england or a country closes to everyone, and try to get as many as possible LFS'ers to turn up and just hang around.
I am a little affraight that it will be difficoult to get the PC equiptment around without problems.

Well I can tell you.
If for example it would be in the same library as the previous LAN by Lan of Legends, there are many PC's available to use

I am sure that there must be some sort of arrangment in the various countries. I mean.. we don't need _THAT_ good computer to run LFS on it right?
