Hi lfs people. I'm trying to make an online host, and so far I got it to connect locally. It's just I want to connect it to the internet, and for some it won't. I followed the server guide for windows and so far I am not sure how to do port forwarding. I even went to portforward.com and they don't have my router. So, how do I start a server that people can connect to through LFS Dedi host?
What is your router model? Can you take a screenies of the interface, printscreen, please.
I'm looking at the manual (http://www.netopia.com/equipme ... twareUserGuideV75Clsc.pdf).

- You should first open up Expert Mode.
- Then click Configure, and then Advanced.
- Select Pinholes.
- Add entries for LFS
Pinhole Name: LFS TCP
Protocol Select: TCP
External Port Start: 63392
External Port End: 63392
Internal IP Address: (Your PC's LAN IP)
Internal Port: 63392

Pinhole Name: LFS UDP
Protocol Select: UDP
External Port Start: 63392
External Port End: 63392
Internal IP Address: (Your PC's LAN IP)
Internal Port: 63392

Then save and restart the router. Unsure what you have to do with whatever software firewall you have. It won't hurt to add an exception to the Windows firewall for the dedi lfs.exe just in case.

The site didn't show up. Also, what does LAN mean, and how do I get to it? And, how do I get to "Expert Mode" in I'm guessing the modem? I'm sorry if I have no idea what I'm doing or what to do. I just need a whole lot of help.
- If you're using Vista or W7, click the Windows icon in the taskbar and type cmd into the search box.
- If you're using some other version of Windows, click Start, then Run.. and type in cmd.

You should get a black window to which you can type stuff.
- Type in ipconfig and write down the value of Default Gateway.
- Open the router's web page with the address you just wrote down, e.g. http://192.168.0.1

You should have got the login screen for the router when you went to that IP, from there it's post #4.

and then what?

No offense, I know you're trying your best, but I want simple easy step by step process on how to get a server going. I'm trying to do it for X10 and nothing is happening. I'm sorry for being picky, and you are doing your best, so thanks for that.
If you logged in, added the pinholes successfully and saved & restarted the router, that should be it. If it's not, I'd call whoever you got the router from.
