hi i have a request for a .gif image i didnt want to post this in lfs movies as it isnt a movie. Anyway what i want is a gif of a fxr driving past a camera but on side view like thisnameistaken's avatar or his old one with the xrt driving away from demo
so anyone want to do this sorry for dp

You can export AVI to GIF using VirtualDub and then you can optimise it with GIMP.

Take loads of screenshots (the more screenshots, the smoother it'll look) and put them together with something like Animation Shop or Adobe ImageReady.

Probably other programs out there, but i'd say Animation Shop is the easiest I know of.
Use Fraps to take a video, then load it into something like Animation Shop, chop out the part you want and save it as a gif. Much smoother than screenshots.
I just imported it into Virtual dub, used a sharpening filter, cropped all the undesirable stuff out of the image while maintaining the same aspect ratio, and then re-sized to 320x240 and exported to a gif.
