Just for point of reference I've been back driving again 2 months Kev, I do a fair bit of driving at the minute (just over 100 miles a day), and so far I've not killed anyone. I avoid people making mistakes (rather too frequently to have faith in the intelligence of the general populace) and have made 1 error which resulted in another driver tooting their horn. No speeding tickets, just lots of arduous miles with very few errors...
I made the post that I did to highlight how some people may react differently to what those police officers did, and demonstrated with provenance why I myself might consider a reaction to the described events which would then have consequences. The purpose of which was to highlight just how badly the police where acting in this scenario.
As I frequently say, you never know how you are going to react until you are in the situation. Yes I've already descovered what I'm capable of in a lot of scenarios - but I've never yet caused injury through negligence on the road and I don't believe my driving is so bad that people have been avoiding me all these years.
It is true that I have reacted strongly to some situations in the past, I make rapid assessments of danger and act quickly and this is a learned reaction, but I'm also yet to ever over react physically. I know the difference between a bark and a bite, and when faced with a bark I'm one of the most timid people you'll ever meet.
So a little balance and perspective is needed in understanding my viewpoint. I'm not advocating the killing of innocent people. The purpose of my post was to highlight a scenario with a very different ending.
Ps: sorry for any spelling errors over the last few days I've been posting from my phone.
