I had an idea.
Let's start a competition or just a collection of a special kind of LFS-Movies. Everyone can post his work in this thread. If you register to vimeo, I can add them to the 5-seconds-channel.

The one and only rule: The duration of the video must be exact 5 seconds.

This first competition will end on 4th of January 2010 wih a poll. Then we can discuss if, and how to move on.

Remeber this is just for fun and to shorten the wait for the patch.
I will make a movie out of all entries. But I need to download them. Vimeo lets me download the source video. Youtube doesn't.
If you want to see your 5 seconds in this upcoming movie too, please provide a downloadlink or add it to vimeo.

at first I thought it was quite a stupid idea of making it just 5 seconds, but then I actually got the point that that IS the challenge, not just a criteria... I will try to come up with something later...

And also 5 seconds won't kill you a week of time, nice idea.

I think that something like this (maybe 10 second or 15 second time limits from time to time) should be our version of LFS photomode competition, with voting and everything

I think like Squid said increasing the duration to 10s and making it a weekly competition would be great.

BTW to change the rule to 10 sec is ok for me but 15 sec is too long I guess. Lets stick to 5 sec for the beginning.

Are you sure it's real sound ? I have veryvery similar FOX sound in LFS

It is. Its from Formula Renault at Magione.

After a month or so, I can merge all movies to one.
And maybe name it...think about it.

Here is my entry, the idea was my brothers "LukeLFS".

Since he doesn't know how to use After Effects, I went ahead and made the video for him.

5 Seconds is enough for me

I will re-render it tomorrow since the bitrate is very low.

Working on something a little different (it's 5 seconds, my vids usually last 17 months, so it has to be different!) for this. It's an excersise in green-screening; we'll put it like that.

I really like this 5 seconds idea. Like Squid said, maybe we can make this a regular thing with themes etc... But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

It's not at all close to perfect but it's the first time I've used masks and green screens in Vegas to a standard I'm reasonably happy with.

Oh btw, if any of you are interested in how you made my video, here's some screenshots of what I did in Vegas:

1 - Showing the 'Green screen' ground in LFS viewer; this allowed me to capture the shadows and moving sky.

2 - Showing the normal car, allowing me to capture the reflections acting on the car (the green screen version had green reflections on the car).

3 - The dragstrip with the car shape cut out.
